15th week of TWB and no COVID cases for band. Keep doing what you are doing and be diligent.! If you are remote and want to come back at least to marching band...we would love to have you. Let me know and we can find a spot for you. Band kids are obviously doing this right.

2 Weeks until UIL Marching Contest!!!!!

Monday - 5PM-8PM (This includes rehearsal and the Reverse Parade)

Wednesday - 7AM-8:20AM

Thursday - 7AM-8:20AM

Friday - 7AM-8:20AM

SATURDAY - 9AM-Noon

It is Homecoming week at Wylie High School. This is an exciting time for all the students and a great time for us to see some of our graduates come home and see the legacy they left upon their graduation. Here are some details for the week.

PARADE ATTIRE

• TWB Cap/Visor (no shako or plume)
  
• TWB Mask or Gaiter
• TWB Polo
  
• Jeans
• Marching Shoes
• You can wear a jacket if needed. Please use school colors if at all possible...and NO BLUE.

Time/Location

5:00PM-6:15PM We will rehearse all procedures for the game prior to the parade. YOU WILL NEED TO BE IN YOUR PARADE ATTIRE FOR REHEARSAL. There will be no time to change.

• Parade time is 6:30PM-7:30PM...or whenever the cars stop coming. Please be flexible. We have not done this before.
• We will set up for the parade in the parking lot. See the location on the map below.
• We will set up in the formation we used for the TWB & Pacesetter Night
• If you are getting picked up after the parade, PLEASE PICK UP IN THE FRONT PARKING LOT AWAY FROM THE CRAZINESS.

Clubs/Activities/Football

• Remind me if you are riding on a float for a club or activity you are involved with.

PARENTS, PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS BEFORE WEDNESDAY!

MUMS/GARTERS

If someone makes you wear one of those mums and garters, this is the procedure.

• Mums - You can have these in the stands, however these cannot pin directly to your uniform. Get creative, but no pinning to the uniform.
  
• Garters – These can go around the arm of your uniform.
  
• These will NOT be worn during halftime, although it would create a great Youtube marching band blooper video. It would sound like a herd of cattle…why do they put cowbells on them…ladies, do not let some boy put a cowbell on you! The only thing that should wear a cowbell is a cow.

GAME DAY PROCEDURES

4:45PM Run Thru in Stadium

5:30PM Dinner outside

6:00PM Change in pre-determined areas/times. Sections march to stadium

ITEMS YOU WILL NEED TO PASS INSPECTION FOR THE GAME

(you will bring these items in your band tote bag)

• TWB Cap or Visor
• TWB Mask or Gaiter
• Show Shirt (BAND TOGETHER WHITE SHIRT) for under uniform
• Long Black Socks with no logo
• Marching Shoes
• Instrument
• Flip Folder

6:30PM Pre-Game Activities and presentation of Band Beau & Sweetheart

7:00PM Game begins

8:15ish Halftime

10:00ish Game is over / change in predetermined areas / leave

Everyone should be out by 10:45PM.

Pregame/Halftime/Homecoming Court

• All Homecoming events, including Band Beau and Sweetheart will be conducted before the game. We will not perform pregame & choir will sing the National Anthem.
  
• If you are in the Homecoming Court/Band Beau and Sweetheart you will wear your stylish garments for the first quarter, then change into your uniform during the second quarter to perform with the band during halftime.
  
• Halftime is going to be a great time to show off this years production to TWB graduates.

Enjoy homecoming week. It is a teenage right of passage.

If you are auditioning for 9th Grade All-Region, the audition window opens on the Music First App on Saturday, November 7 and closes at 11:59PM on Wednesday, November 11.

TICKET PRICE: $10 Adult/ $5 ISD Student (Pre-school age children are free)

8:00AM Band Hall opens

9:30AM Rehearsal/Run Through in Bibbers with Shako

10:30AM Load Trailers/ Snack

11:00AM Inspection and load buses

11:45AM Depart WHS

You may drive or ride with a parent

If you need a ride, there will be buses available at reduced capacity

12:00PM Arrive

12:30PM Warm Up

1:19PM Performance

1:40PM Load & Depart

ALL students will go back to WHS to put uniform away & unload equipment.

There could be more home games than the one that is listed. We will find out soon. Keep your Fridays open.
