Tuesday, April 2nd will be an A day.

We hope everyone enjoyed Spring Break! We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, April 2nd.

3rd marking period report cards will be available online in HAC on Wedneseday, April 10th.

8th Grade Parents -

Please see the attached document below for information from Ms. Abney about scheduling 9th-grade courses!

SMCPS students can sign up for the following Summer Courses for original credit: Health 2, Foundations of Computer Science, Geometry, Spanish 1, and Spanish 2. This FLYER includes all of the details on how to register and course dates and times. Any questions can be directed to Heather Wysokinski at hmwysokinski@smcps.org.

Applications for AVPA, GIS, STEM 9, STEM 8, and STEM 7 will open on Tuesday, April 2nd, and close on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. No late applications will be accepted. The online application will be found on the Academies page of the SMCPS website. The annual Academy Open House will be held virtually on Wednesday, April 10th starting at 5:30 pm. More information is available via the Academy Open House Google Site.

PTO 8th Grade Shirts

The EMS PTO is excited to sponsor the sale of the EMS 8th Grade Shirts! The shirt design was done with the help of Mrs. Ryan's art students and was completely designed by 8th Grade students (Adriana and Olivia). See the desgin of the front and back of the shirt below!

Shirts are $10 a shirt ($12 for 2XL and $13 for 3XL), and all funds raised by the sale go directly back to the 8th Grade for their dance and other end-of-the-year activities!

Shirt sales will be open from now until April 16th, and students will receive their shirts in early May. Please fill out the form below entirely so we have all the information we need to get your student's shirt to them.

Payment will be cash, check (**made out to EMS PTO**), or PayPal (**with student's name in the comment line**).

Please submit payment in a timely fashion so that we can order your student's shirt for them.

**Payments sent in with the student should be given to the student's homeroom teacher labeled with the student's name, 8th-grade shirt, and EMS PTO. Checks are to be made out to EMS PTO.**

Upcoming Events

Spring Intramurals

Our Spring Intramurals will start the week of April 15th and run through the week of May 20th. We will offer Track and Field, Kickball, and Floor Hockey. Permission slips will be available in the SMORE on Sunday, April 7th and in the cafeteria on Monday, April 8th.

Upcoming Dances

Event Information

7th Grade Dance

This dance will take place right after school for 7th-grade students ONLY; students must be picked up at 4:00 p.m. Parents will not need to come inside to pick up students. Students will be released to the parking lot at 4:00 p.m. to go home. The permission slip to attend the dance will be in the April 7th SMORE and available in the cafeteria starting Monday, April 8th. The cost to attend the dance is $5.00. Students must have their $5.00 and signed permission slip during homeroom on Friday, April 12th, to get their dance wristband. No dance wristbands will be sold after homeroom, and no students can call home to get permission to attend the dance.
