Loose Parts!
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, Mallory Centeno, Program Development Specialist, Early Education Programs, joined Early Care and Education at their Quality Early Learning Services Symposium. This was a full day of instruction supporting play-based learning in early learning environments. Mallory presented Loose Parts, which focuses on challenging children's (and educator's) creativity and imagination to create new activities and learn new skills solely from recycled and loose materials. Creating Fair and Positive Early Learning Environments for All Young Children
On Saturday, May 3, 2025, Early Education Programs in partnership with California Preschool Instructional Network (CPIN) completed the second session of a two-day training focused on creating fair and positive early learning environments and supporting the whole child. Thank you to all of the educators who attended these sessions and to our partners at CPIN! You are all making extraordinary changes and impacting the early learning world with your dedication!

Quality Early Learning Services Symposiums

Early Education Teacher Development Grant (EETDG)
The EETDG is designed to support a portion of the tuition costs for California's current and future early educator workforce. EETDG Tuition Support Stipends will be awarded to candidates intending to advance their career as a California State Preschool/Head Start or Transitional Kindergarten Teacher employed within Riverside County. The grant is divided into four different tracks designed to support specific career goals described below.
Early Education Teacher Development Grant Tracks
TRACK 1: EARLY EDUCATION/CHILD DEVELOPMENT
Designed for all TK-12 teachers in a district or charter school that need early childhood development units to teach Transitional Kindergarten (TK). Teachers do not need to be assigned to TK to participate in this grant.
Tuition Support Stipend:
$300 per unit, not to exceed $7,200 per person.
TRACK 2: CREDENTIAL PATHWAY
Created for early educators interested in obtaining a Multiple Subject, Preschool to Third Grade (PK3), or Early Childhood Special Education Teaching Credential required to teach TK or above, Career Technical Education for early childhood and family studies, or Administrative Credential to support TK-12 early education for candidates who currently hold a Child Development Program Director Permit. This Track is intended for coursework that is required for a credential to support the growth of Transitional Kindergarten.
Tuition Support Stipend:
$650 per unit, not to exceed $19,500 per person.
TRACK 3: CHILD DEVELOPMENT TEACHER PERMIT OR ABOVE
Developed for all Paraeducators interested in obtaining additional early childhood development units to apply for or upgrade their Child Development Permit as required to become a preschool teacher, site supervisor, or director.
Tuition Support Stipend:
$300 per unit, not to exceed $7,200 per person.
TRACK 4: INFANT/TODDLER GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
Established for all educational staff interested in obtaining infant/toddler growth and development units in order to support 0-3 year old children.
Tuition Support Stipend:
$300 per unit, not to exceed $3,600 per person.
