RULH Schools Earn PBIS Awards from Ohio Department of Education and Workforce
RULH Local School District was recently recognized by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) for their implementation performance in regard to Positive Behavior Interventions and Support for students. RULH Local School District was one of only three school districts (out of 18 school districts) in Region 14 to receive the district award. Additionally, RULH Elementary School was one of two schools (out of over 50 schools in the region) to earn the prestigious Gold PBIS Award. RULH Junior High School (Grades 7 & 8) and Senior High School (Grades 9-12) were also recognized by ODEW with Bronze PBIS Awards.
To qualify for the PBIS Awards, RULH schools met several rigorous criteria, including:
Comprehensive Behavior Supports: The school documented a robust system of behavioral supports that address the diverse needs of its students at all intervention tiers.
Data-Driven Decision Making: RULH Elementary effectively used database information to engage in collaborative problem-solving with school staff and PBIS team members, ensuring continuous improvement and student success.
Organized Team Collaboration: The school maintained organized team meeting notes and utilized collected data for informed program planning and effective implementation of PBIS strategies.
The Bronze and Gold Awards, recognize the outstanding implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). This prestigious honor reflects the school’s strong commitment to cultivating a positive school culture and enhancing student outcomes. In attaining these awards, RULH Schools have shown exemplary dedication to creating an environment where every student feels supported and empowered.
“I am very proud of our schools for this fantastic achievement,” said RULH Superintendent Jamie Wilkins. “This award signifies the hard work and dedication of our staff to create a nurturing environment where every student can thrive. It’s a testament to our collective effort to support positive behavior and academic success.”
The award will be formally presented at a ceremony in April, where the achievements of RULH School District will be celebrated alongside other schools recognized for their commitment to PBIS.
