Academic Information and Support
As we are approaching the end of the school year, please review your student's grades and make sure they are on track to pass all classes and earn the grades they are striving for! Student's must earn at least a 70 average for the year to earn class credits.
Your student's teachers are a great resource! If you have concerns, it is encouraged that you reach out to your student's teacher. Parents are able to track student grades through their own parent portal and Schoology accounts. If you do not know how to access this, please contact the Counseling Office!
After School HELP (Henderson Enhanced Learning Period)
The Henderson Library is open after school Mondays through Thursdays from 2:30-3:30. Staff and National Honors Society tutors (seniors) will be available to provide students with a supportive place to complete homework and get assistance with assignments. No appointment or pass is necessary, just drop-in any time during the time frame outlined above.
National Honor Society Tutoring
The National Honor Society (NHS) provides peer tutoring services at no charge to HHS students experiencing difficulty in any subject area, or simply for help preparing for a test or quiz. Students can sign up by scanning the NHS QR code posted around the building or by contacting Mrs. Peracchia or Mrs. Purnell-Bratcher, NHS Co-Advisors. Tutors and students seeking tutoring will be paired according to the subject area and their mutual free time (study halls and/or lunch).
Teacher Assistance
Teachers are available after school (from 2:15โ2:50) for help with classroom assignments and test preparation. Students or guardians can arrange this by either speaking with or e-mailing the teacher directly.
Warrior Block
Warrior block runs from 10:39am-11:09am every day. This is a great time for students to get extra support from their teachers! Students can see activities that are available for them on Flex Time Manager. Please encourage your student to sign up and access their teachers during this time.

The summer is a great time for your student to regroup after a long school year and spend time with family and friends. It is also a great time for students to think about their individual interests. Students might be interested in getting a summer job, participating in a program or gaining some volunteer hours in an area of interest. WCASD offers several programs over the summer! Please see the summer school website for information on course options.
Summer enrichment programs and job opportunities are also posted on your student's Counseling Schoology counseling course.
HHS Post-Secondary Planning: Class of 2025
HHS Post-Secondary Planning: Class of 2026
HHS Post-Secondary Planning: Class of 2027
Please see the summer school website, if your student needs to make up a class in summer school. Teachers will alert families if a student has not passed a class for the year. Your student's School Counselor will contact you with options and recommendations for your individual student at the end of the year. Students must earn a final average of 70 over the four marking periods to pass for the year and at least a final average of a 60 to be eligible for summer school make up classes.
Grade Level Information
๐Seniors ๐
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation!
One of the last things that seniors need to do is complete their required senior survey. Every senior must complete this survey by no later than June 2nd. The senior survey is how students report their post-secondary plans to the district.
Final transcripts- All colleges will require a final transcript before matriculation. All seniors must complete a senior survey- which will serve as the request to send their final transcript to the college of their choice. Students should see their school counselor if they have any questions!
๐ฅ Juniors ๐ฅ
This summer, rising seniors should be researching and working towards finalizing their post-secondary plans. If your student's plan includes college, students should complete college visits, do online research, and start to work on college applications. Most college applications do not open until August 1st. Many senior students will apply to college through the common app. Students should create an account and begin looking at applications over the summer to be best prepared for the start of the year. Be mindful of individual college timelines and requirements. All juniors have had an individual junior meeting with their counselor to talk about their individualized plan. If your student's plans have changed or they need more direction before the school year ends, please encourage them to access their counselor for additional support!
Resources/Previous Communication for Junior Families:
๐ป Sophomores ๐ป
Sophomore students have now completed half of their high school career! Sophomores should be thinking about their personal interests/skills and how that applies to their post-secondary choices. Many sophomores may begin to do college visits this summer or look for summer jobs/experiences that will enrich their learning. Students should remember to keep track of any volunteering hours that they complete.
๐Freshman ๐
Getting through the first year of high school is big step! This summer, students should consider getting a job or getting involved with summer opportunites to help develop their personal interests. Students should remember to keep track of any volunteering hours that they complete.
