Dear Families,
I am thrilled to share that we had a hugely successful Literacy Week and Walkathon! Both events proved to be memorable and were made possible by the hard work and creativity of the staff in our school community.
First, I'd like to extend a huge thank you to Joia Kirby and Kelly McCollum for organizing an absolutely amazing Literacy Week. Your enthusiasm and dedication have truly inspired our students to delve into the joy of reading. The energetic atmosphere in our school was a testament to your efforts.
A special shoutout goes to Tina Loguidici and Eileen Donahue for orchestrating a fantastic Walkathon. It was not only successful as a FTO fun raiser but bring us together as we raised money for our school.
For those who wish to contribute further, there is still an opportunity to make donations. Every contribution helps us enrich the learning experiences of our students and supports future events like these.
Thank you to all the teachers for coming together this week to create such a joyful and inspiring environment. I've been so impressed with the way everyone jumped in—encouraging our young readers to participate in the reading challenge, crafting wonderful classroom book chains, ensuring students kept their time slots for book selections, and showcasing the talents of our remarkable student writers.
The creativity and effort that went into your book character costumes were nothing short of spectacular! Friday's grand finale was truly a highlight of the week, with teams planning such imaginative and engaging genre-themed activities for buddy grade levels. Visiting classrooms watching teachers teaching different grade levels was such fun. Walking through our school, I felt the building was bursting with joy and excitement!
The Spanish team also supported literacy we by creating a Spanish story and writing station in the Learning Commons. Every grade took part in this activity. Thank you!
The day went by in a blink. I hope the kids enjoyed it as much as we did!
I have attached a few photos capturing just a glimpse of the incredible fun and learning we had this week. I hope you enjoy these memories as much as I do.
Wishing you all a wonderful and restful Spring vacation. Thank you once again for your unwavering support and commitment to our school community.
With Gratitude,
Stacy & Tara
