NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 5 | 6 MARCH 2025
I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend and enjoyed some quality time with family and friends.
This week marked the beginning of the Lenten season, a significant time in our Liturgical calendar. To recognise Shrove Tuesday, students enjoyed delicious pancakes before Ash Wednesday. On Wednesday, Father Leonard, Mrs Curtis, and our Year Five and Six students led a beautiful Ash Wednesday Liturgy. Students from Kindergarten to Year Six received ashes on their foreheads in the shape of a cross, a meaningful act of remembrance and a visible sign of faith for others.
Our Year Six campers returned last Friday, exhausted but filled with joy! I was fortunate to spend time with them on Thursday, witnessing their enthusiasm in archery and joining them for a reflective and moving liturgy. Once again, this remarkable group of young people impressed me with their outstanding behaviour and willingness to embrace challenges. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Bowman, Mrs Mackie, Mr Mastan, and Ms Nguyen for organising such a memorable and enriching experience for our students.
Lastly, I sincerely appreciate our families' patience during drop-off and pick-up times and for adhering to the City of Wanneroo parking guidelines. A gentle reminder that if you are using the Kiss and Drive, please remain in your vehicle, as this area is not designated for parking.
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!
God bless

Tell Them From Me Parent Survey
As part of the ongoing reflection process at St Elizabeth's we are again conducting the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Parent Survey. Parents may choose to complete the Tell Them From Me Survey to have their voices heard and contribute to meaningful improvements. This survey provides an opportunity for parents to share their perspectives on various aspects of the school, including the quality of teaching, student well-being, school culture, and communication between home and school. By participating, parents can help us identify strengths and areas for growth, ensuring that decisions and initiatives are informed by real feedback. Ultimately, your input can lead to a more positive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Term 1 Parent Planner
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
It’s hard to believe we have reached the halfway mark of the term already! The weeks are flying by, and it has been wonderful to see our students engaging in their learning and school activities with enthusiasm.
Swimming Lessons
It is fantastic to see students developing their confidence in the water and learning important swimming skills. These lessons are not only a great way to stay active but also help build lifelong water safety habits.
House Captain Voting
Tomorrow, students will be voting for their house captains. Staff and students in Years 3–6 will take part in the voting process, selecting the Year 6 students they believe would make great house leaders. The outcome of the voting will be announced next Tuesday, with a badge presentation taking place during the Week 7 assembly.
Of course, not every student can be appointed to this leadership position. Over the weekend, it may be helpful to have a conversation with your child about the process, the importance of resilience, and how every student can still be a leader in their own way. Best of luck to all the candidates!
NAPLAN Testing Next Week
Next week, our Year 3 and Year 5 students will be participating in NAPLAN testing. The timetable is as follows:
📌 Wednesday – Writing
📌 Thursday – Reading & Language Conventions
📌 Friday – Numeracy
We understand that NAPLAN can be an unsettling time for some students, and we encourage them to focus on effort and simply doing their best. A supportive conversation at home can make a big difference in helping students approach the tests with a positive mindset.
Reflecting on the Lenten Season
As we journey through the Lenten season, I encourage you to take a moment to discuss with your child what this time means to them. Lent is a period of reflection, prayer, and preparation for Easter, where Christians are called to grow in faith, show kindness to others, and make sacrifices in the spirit of giving.
That’s all from me for this week. Wishing you all a wonderful and restful weekend.
