As we prepare to celebrate the holidays, I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season. As we prepare to turn the corner to 2025, may your days be filled with joy, peace, and love.

December:
Please remember to drive safe in winter weather. Think twice and watch for ice!
Give yourself plenty of time to get to where you are going, always wear your seatbelt and NEVER leave you keys or fob in the car to warm up. Criminals are looking for this opportunity to steal your car.
Let’s make this December full of joy, love, and laughter – without avoidable mishaps. Stay safe, stay merry, and have a wonderful holiday season.
“The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” -Galatians 5:22-23
Congratulations State Pom Champs!
Student Hunger Drive - NS "Most Improved"
Thank you to all who supported the Student Hunger Drive. This year, our school district won "most improved" (and got a green banner to prove it), and we believe this award is due, in part, to your hard work and support.
Here is the River Bend Food Bank donation summary outlining our total donations for this Student Hunger Drive
collected 787,186 meals for the 1 in 8 people experiencing hunger in our community. Because of them, our neighbors will be able to eat, and this is the power of our collective impact!
But what we accomplished together would have been impossible without what your students collected individually. This year, that total is 22,454 meals.
Furthermore, 6,000 pounds of our donations went directly to the North Scott Food Pantry. We feel very fortunate to have worked with you all to provide for our community in this way. Edward White Elementary School, Alan Shepard Elementary School, Virgil Grissom Elementary School, Neil Armstrong Elementary School, John Glenn Elementary School.
also participated in the Student Hunger Drive. We'd also like to thank the Eldridge Community Center and Skatepark, the Eckhardts, the North Scott Volleyball, First Trust and Savings Bank, Petersen Plumbing & Heating, and Blackhawk Trail Storage for all they did to make this year's Hunger Drive a success.
Bus Drivers Gift Bag Breakfast for Senior Citizens
https://www.facebook.com/NorthScottASES/On Thursday, December 12th, our North Scott School Bus Drivers, along with the North Scott School Board, packaged 100 care packages for community senior citizens. These were hand-delivered to previously identified citizens.

Important Transportation Update for Parents/Guardians
To ensure the safety and efficiency of our school transportation system, students are required to ride only the bus they are assigned to. This policy helps us maintain accurate attendance and ensure that every student arrives home safely.
Exceptions can be made for consistent changes related to childcare needs on early release days. If your child requires a permanent change to their bus route due to a regular childcare arrangement, please contact Derek Hamilton, Transportation Supervisor at 563-285-9801 to discuss these accommodations. All requests must be arranged in advance.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep all students safe.
North Scott Food Services - 2024-25 Free and Reduced Meal Applications are being accepted
At North Scott Community School District, our Identified Student Percentage rate sets us apart from other nearby school districts. Because of this, we're not eligible for the Community Eligibility Provision that offers free meals to all students. But don't worry, NS families can still apply annually for these meal benefits!
In these challenging economic times, we understand that many families have experienced job changes or losses. We want to remind you that our Free and Reduced Meals Program is available to assist students in need. Whether your circumstances have recently changed or you’ve never applied before, we encourage you to check if your family qualifies. The application process is quick, confidential, and could provide your child with healthy meals at little to no cost. No one should hesitate to apply—this program is here to help.
Online applications are also available with E-Registration. Log into the parent portal at
https://northscott.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/parents/northscott.jsp and go to “More” and
“Meal Benefits”. Then follow the application process to apply for Free/Reduced meals for your
household
