~Make Every Day Count!~
~~ School Gates OPEN at 8:30, Arrive On Time~
Happy New Year Roadrunner Families,
Happy New Year and welcome back! We hope you had a restful and enjoyable holiday season. As we begin the second semester, we are excited to see our students continue to grow in their learning. The progress they make each day is a testament to their hard work, and we are eager to support them in reaching new milestones.
To ensure that every student can fully benefit from the learning opportunities ahead, we ask for your continued support in prioritizing regular attendance. Research shows that missing more than one day of school per month can result in chronic absenteeism, which can impact students' academic success. We encourage you to make every effort to ensure your child arrives on time and attends school daily.
Thank you for being our partners in education. Together, we can help our students thrive and make this a successful semester for all.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Hernandez, Principal

PBIS Behavior Skill: Working with Others
Why is working with others important?
What opportunities did you have last week to work as a team? In school? At home?
What did you do well?
What can you do better?
Thriver strength Review: Optimism
Optimistic kids view challenges and obstacles as temporary. Challenges can be overcome, and things will get better!
How can we practice using optimism?
- Be mindful to use positive language.
- Focus on the good things going on in your life.
- Practice gratitude exercises, such as sharing with others what you are thankful for, or writing what you are thnakful for in a "gratitude journal."
- View challenges as opportunities to learn and grow.
- Celebrate small achievements.
- Support and encourage each other.
- Accept that challenges are a part of life, but the tough moments are temporary. Focus on solutions and the potential for postive change.
- All feelings are important. Give yourself a moment when you struggle, then move on and focus on what makes you happy.
