The purpose of this monthly newsletter is to provide information from ROE 53: Professional Development opportunities and resources including SEL, book studies, yearlong cohorts, Administrator Academies, updates on Teacher Licensure, and any pertinent news from ISBE.

Subs: Short Term Substitute Licenses do not have an associated application fee or registration fee at this time. Qualifications and restrictions for this type of license can be found here.
Updates to Educator Licensure: A new Elementary Math Specialist endorsement is now available and there is updated information for educators seeking a 9-12 Science or Social Science endorsement. A summary can be found here; full text can be reviewed here.
PEL's: Professional Educator Licenses that were up for renewal this year but were not renewed lapsed as of September 01. Reinstatement information is available here. Any owed professional development must be entered into the system before reinstatement can take place. Back registration fees will also be charged at the current rate of $10 per year for any years owed in order to complete the reinstatement.
Raising Student Achievement Conference: Congratulations to the following schools that were awarded scholarships from ROE 53 to attend this year's conference; Illini Central, Eureka, Washington Grade School, Rankin School, EP Elementary, Metamora Grade, Germantown Hills, Deer Creek-Mackinaw, Fieldcrest, and Metamora High!
