2nd Quarter Dean Chats
Each quarter, our Dean, Mrs. Confiliano, meets with all of our students throughout the week to review school-wide expectations. Overall our students do a fantastic job on a daily basis. Topics discussed that we would appreciate your support with are: student academic responsibilities, having appropriate peer interactions, cleaning up after ourselves in the cafeteria and respecting people's boundaries. A big topic of conversation revolved around being kind and welcoming to all students, this included comments about people's race and culture, on social media or in person. At Heritage Grove, we want every student to feel comfortable and safe; together we can help create a school community of respect for all.

November's Social-Emotional Focus
BETTER TOGETHER
TEAMWORK
The first Wednesday of each month our students engage in a lesson focusing on character and social-emotional learning. This month our focus is teamwork. Teamwork is the ability to work in unity with others towards a common goal. For us to learn how to become team players, it is important that we learn to listen, encourage our peers, and allow and invite others to contribute their talents and skills. Homework Link in Google Classroom - All grade level classrooms have a link where teachers can post their daily homework. This is helpful with organization and work completion for our students.
HAC - Remember to keep an eye on your student(s)' Home Access. Not only can you see their current grade in each course, but you can also see the gradebooks to check for missing work. Classroom teachers will use the following codes when entering grades:
AB: Student was absent; is expected to complete. (no effect on grade)
EX: Student is excused - does not need to do the assignment (no effect on grade)
NHI: Student did not hand assignment in. (calculates a 0 into grade)
'0' Zero: Student turned in assignment but earned zero points.
