From Mr. Patin's Desk
We’d like to introduce some additional new staff members you!
Hello! My name is Joe Palsic. My wife and I have 3 incredible children. I have taught high school math for the last 10 years. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Math Education from the University of Wyoming. I have always felt that individualized learning is crucial to student success and enjoy helping students reach their full potential through their individual goals. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, cheering on the Red Sox, gardening, and anything that involves hockey. I am ecstatic to join the team at Kelloggsville High School, go Rockets!
Hi, I’m Kristen Curtis. I am the new Food Service Director for Kelloggsville Public Schools. I have been working in Food Service for 21 years at Kentwood Public Schools. I worked in two Elementary kitchens, one being the first elementary kitchen (at the time the largest) to be a full production kitchen. I then worked for over 10 years as an Assistant to the Director. I am excited to be at Kelloggsville and plan on making great menus for our scholars!
Hello my name is Sophia Smith, I am the new long term sub at KHS. This is my first year subbing. I absolutely love it here at Kelloggsville. I am a wife and a mother of four and one of my kids is a student here at KHS too. When I am not subbing, I’m a photographer with almost twenty years of experience. I also enjoy spending a lot of time with my family and my church family. I’m currently a student at GVSU gaining my bachelor's degree in Business with a teaching certificate. I am glad to be apart of the Kelloggsville High School family.
Hi! My name is Morgan Oakes and I am the new Athletic Secretary at the High School. I graduated from Grandville High School in 2021, I now coach girls soccer there as well as work with their boys varsity basketball team. My name is Agustin “Gus” Chavez and I work in student services at KHS providing instructional support to students. I also coach girls soccer at the middle school, and I’m the head coach of our boys varsity soccer team. I am a proud Kelloggsville graduate with the class of 2019. I attended GRCC where I obtained my associates degree. After that, I took a short break from college before resuming my studies to pursue a bachelors degree at GVSU studying psychology. As a KV alumnus I’m happy to say that I am now a part of this incredible team of staff that is always striving to be a positive influence for our students and community.
Give the gift of SAFETY this year
The holidays are around the corner. Keep your kids and loved ones safe this year and plan to HAVE THE CONVERSATION with family & friends you are visiting - ASK & ENSURE that all guns are stored unloaded and LOCKED whenever and wherever kids and teens are in homes AND vehicles. Be sure and be safe this year.
Free gun locks are available at all Kelloggsville school locations. Learn more at besmartforkids.org.
In Michigan, it is now a law that all firearms must be securely stored (unloaded, locked in a locked container or with a gun lock, with ammunition separate) when minors are present, or could be present in both homes and vehicles. Theater Production
Kelloggsville Theater presents Ken Ludwig's “The Three Musketeers” on Friday, December 6th and Saturday, December 7th at 7pm, $5 at the door.
This adaptation is based on the timeless swashbuckler by Alexandre Dumas, a tale of heroism, treachery, close escapes, and above all, honor.
The story, set in 1625, begins with D’Artagnan, who sets off for Paris in search of adventure. Along with D’Artagnan goes Sabine, his sister, the quintessential tomboy. Sent with D’Artagnan to attend a convent school in Paris, she poses as a young man – D’Artagnan’s servant – and quickly becomes entangled in her brother’s adventures. Soon after reaching Paris, D’Artagnan encounters the greatest heroes of the day – Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, the famous musketeers – and he joins forces with his heroes to defend the honor of the Queen of France. In so doing, he finds himself in opposition to the most dangerous man in Europe, Cardinal Richelieu.
Even more deadly is the infamous Countess de Winter, known as Milady, who will stop at nothing to exact revenge on D’Artagnan – and Sabine – for their meddlesome behavior. Little does Milady know that the young girl she scorns, Sabine, will ultimately save the day.
