Boys' Lacrosse
The boys closed out the season with a tough 10-9 loss in the rain Tuesday night at Ridley. Every person who stepped on that field was met with a wave of enthusiasm from the sideline and fought hard until the very last second.
Wyatt Stemler and Joey Simko had stellar performances in goal and on defense. The boys finished 9-9 overall (4 games better than last season), 5th in the PAC, posted one of the best GAA in the PAC defensively this season, and came away with 6 all league selections.
CONGRATULATIONS on 100 Points!!!
- · Christian Kay - Reached 100 points all time with a 3 goal 2 assist game at Ridley on 5/14.
- · Michael Maro - Reached 100 points all time as a Sophomore with a 4-goal playoff performance at Ridley on 5/14.
We wish the best for all our players in their future endeavors and look forward to cheering on those continuing their lacrosse careers at the collegiate level.

The team finished 3rd in the District and had 4 athletes qualify to continue their season at the PIAA State Championship at Shippensburg University this weekend.
- Senior Summer Mellow placed 3rd in the Long Jump (18-02), 2nd in the 100m dash (12.06), and 4th in the 200m (24.68). These performances qualified her for states in all three events.
- Senior Kenslee O’Donnell placed 5th in the 100m hurdles (15.19), qualifying her for state.
- Freshman Marlie Klein placed 5th in the 1600m (4:59.23), breaking the school record, and 8th in the 800m (2:15.57). Both of these performances qualified her for states.
- Freshman Victoria James placed 1st in the shot put (37-00.25). This performance qualified her for states.
There were many accomplishments from these talented young athletes, and we hope there is more to come this weekend!
Boys' Track & Field
The Methacton Boy's qualified 4 individuals and a 4x1 relay for the District 1 Championships last weekend. Avery Smith and Wesley Conover qualified for the 100m dash, while Colin O'Donnell & Brock Yoder competed in the 1600 & 3200 meter. Dylan Weber and Brody Mellow joined Avery and Wes to compete in the 4x1 relay.
- On Friday, Wesley and Avery competed in the same heat of the 100 prelims, with Wesley qualifying for Saturday's final by winning his heat. In the 200m prelims, Wesley also qualified for the final on time with his second fastest time ever, 22.01.
- The 4x1 of Dylan Weber, Avery Smith, Brody Mellow & Wesley Conover broke the school record (previously set in 2013) by running 42.58. Capitalizing on near perfect handoffs and timing, they were able to place 11th overall.
- Colin O'Donnell finished a very impressive sophomore track season, in which he ran the fastest 3200 time by a sophomore in school history, and qualified for districts.
- On Saturday morning, Freshman Brock Yoder competed in the 3200 meter run for an 18th place finish and impressive time of 9:27. Brock finished his freshman year having run one of the fastest 3200 times for a freshman in state history. He is also already up to 5th in school history in the 1600.
- Brock & the 4x100 relay also ran state qualifying times but did not qualify because of place, providing an optimistic outlook on the future. Only one senior will graduate from this district qualifying group.
- Wesley Conover ran to an 8th place finish in the 100 meter dash and a state qualifying time of 11.05 to qualify for his second straight PIAA state championship. Good luck to Wesley on Friday as he runs in States at Shippensburg University!
Baseball
Methacton defeated PJP II 5-3 to earn a spot in the championship game against Phoenixville on Thursday night. Evan Jones earned the victory on the mound with Will Christian getting the save. Tommy Kratz led the offense going 4 for 4 including a triple and a double with three runs scored.
In a rematch of last year’s epic 13 inning championship game, Methacton defeated Phoenixville 2-0 in a pitchers’ duel. For the Phantoms, senior Christian Cervino was dominant through five innings, giving up only two hits and one earned run with five strikeouts. For Methacton, Sophomore Will Christian tossed a complete game two-hit shutout to carry the Warriors. Methacton got on the board in the first inning when Tommy Kratz, who was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, scored on a sacrifice fly to right field by Chase McNally. Nick Remish and Bryce Lohsen had singles for the Warriors. Tripp Shytle had the biggest hit of the game with an RBI single to extend the lead to 2-0. Phoenixville threatened in the seventh inning with a walk followed by an error, but Christian closed the door to give Methacton the 2024 Pioneer Athletic Conference Championship.
Methacton will next take on the winner of the Ridley vs. North Penn game in the second round of the District One playoffs on Wednesday, 5/22 at home. Go Warriors!
