Community Update from Principal Griffin
Dear Erie High School families,
What a week! It has been so awesome to welcome back our students for the 2024-2025 school year. We welcomed the freshmen class (Erie High School Class of 2028) to school on Tuesday, August 13th. Big thanks to our LINK crew and Mrs. Czernicki & her team of teachers for building a meaningful, engaging, and informative day for our freshmen. On Wednesday, August 14th, we had the privilege of welcoming back all students for our first full day of school.
Our students are the reason that we are here - it is always exciting and uplifting to welcome them back to school. Our purpose as a public school is to support learning and growth for all students, so that they may go on to lead happy, full, and successful lives. I appreciate the dedication and commitment to learning shown by our students, faculty, and staff, and the robust support of our families. Each group has contributed meaningfully to the success of the first week in school.
In our classrooms, Advisory sessions, and class meetings, we are emphasizing the importance of a strong start to the 2024-2025 school year. We call upon all Erie HS students to commit to consistent attendance, punctuality, and high levels of engagement both in and out of the classroom in our school. We know that successful students are committed to the important habits of timely attendance and thoughtful engagement in learning and growth - this is an important message for us to teach, re-teach, and reinforce with all of our students. We are fortunate to have such strong partnerships with our EHS parents and families - thank you for your commitment to supporting our school in developing these important values with your child.
An important element of each child’s successful high school experience is their involvement in sports and co-curricular opportunities. Fall sports are underway and we already have over 425 student-athletes participating, but we still have opportunities for students to begin cross country, football, softball, and boys tennis just this fall. We offer many additional sports in our winter and spring seasons. Additionally, we have robust performing and visual arts programs available to all students, and approximately 3 dozen students clubs and organizations. It is important for students to seek opportunities to learn and grow outside the classroom at Erie High School!
Next week, I look forward to Back to School Night, which will be held on Thursday, August 22nd, from 5:30 - 8:00 pm. We will begin promptly at 5:30 in the EHS Auditorium where I will address all families in attendance. After my presentation, we will host grade level breakout meetings throughout the school, and then dismiss families to follow a shortened version of your child’s schedule. Back to School Night is an important opportunity for parents and guardians to meet the incredible team of Erie High School teachers, staff, counselors, and administrators. Please plan to attend this important event.
I hope that you and your family enjoy an incredible weekend. Next week, we will begin the competitive season for most of our fall sports programs and continue to see our students settle into their school routines for the year. Thank you for your continued partnership in support of your child in our school.
Sincerely,
Josh Griffin
Erie High School Principal
Code of Conduct (Guardian Signature Required!)
Thank you for your partnership and supporting the academic growth, safety, and well-being of our students. Every year, St. Vrain Valley Schools prints an up-to-date version of the Code of Conduct for students and families to review. This important document guides students and school staff on what expectations for school conduct and the consequences for behaviors that fall outside of those expectations. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document.
To this end, please click here to access an electronic version of the Code of Conduct for the current school year. After you have reviewed this information, all families must sign an electronic acknowledgement that they have received, read, and understand the information contained, including the Annual Notification to Parents/Guardians; Behavioral Code of Conduct; Rights and Responsibilities of Students and Parents; and Board of Education Policies book. To sign your electronic acknowledgement, please follow the steps described here.
Again, thank you for your continued partnership and support. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our administrative team.

Tiger Packs
Does Your Erie Student Qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch at School?
If so, they are eligible for Erie UpLink’s Tiger Packs program. Tiger Packs contain kid-friendly, nonperishable food items and are delivered to the students’ doorsteps once per month on the Wednesday prior to school breaks to help bridge the food gap for those kids who normally receive free breakfast and lunch at school. Parents can sign up online at: https://www.erieuplink.org/tiger-pack-registration
