FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
Reflecting upon the month of October here at Fr. Doyle - which included Grandparents' Day, our annual Walk-a-thon, the Respect Life Baby Shower, Parent Teacher Conferences, and much much more - one word comes to mind: community. The word originates from the Latin communis meaning "shared by all," which got me thinking - what is it that we all share within this vibrant school community? What are the beliefs that bring us together?
Firstly, the school community recognizes each child as a unique gift from God with his or her own special gifts and also distinctive challenges. This understanding guides our teachers in their instruction and interactions with students. It also inspires each member of the community to provide the best academic, social, and spiritual setting for each and every child each and every day.
Secondly, we strive for our school to be a center of extraordinary academic excellence, but for the right reasons. We do this because we love young people and want to give glory to God, and we know that providing children with a safe, nurturing environment in which to learn and grow ultimately does just that.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, we understand that all we do here is ultimately rooted in Christ Jesus. As our scripture verse for the year notes, we are "rooted in Him, and built upon Him, abounding in thanksgiving." Indeed, I am filled with thanksgiving for this wonderful school community each day, and I pray that it continues to grow and flourish.
As busy as October has been with a wide array of community activities, there's plenty coming up in November as well! This includes:

Purple Bins help our school!
Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up
Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
