Sentinel Snapshot

Our career and technical education courses (CTE) give Steilacoom students real-world and practical connections to their developing skills. One neat example of CTE at our school is The Outpost, our student store. For this school year, we relocated The Outpost so that it is adjacent to the commons where students eat lunch. Earlier this year, students from our Marketing classes pitched our administrative team on how to better serve our students by varying the options of items sold while also still abiding by the federal school nutrition rules. Watching our students strategically unpack this puzzle was really fun, and their choices appear to have made a difference; there are sales being made every lunch time!
