From the Office
It is hard to believe that next week is the end of the first semester! The students have been working very hard. I appreciate all of their efforts this semester. As the winter break approaches, we want to take a moment to wish you and your family a joyous and restful holiday season. I hope that this time allows you to relax, recharge, and create lasting memories with your family.
I will not be sending out any Friday communication next week. Please remember that winter break runs from December 23rd to January 3rd. School will resume on Monday, January 6th. We will have our Winter Blast activities on Friday, December 20th. It will be a day filled with fun activities for the students.
Please note that over the winter break the office will be closed. Feel free to leave a voice message or you can email if you need anything over the break. We will get back to you on January 3rd, when staff return.
Thank you,

Counselor's Corner
Hello Westridge Families,
This month’s focus in classroom guidance lessons was Honesty. One way to think about Honesty is “being truthful in what you say and do.” Practicing Honesty helps strengthen our relationships and even reduces stress. Across grade levels, students practiced developing skills like emotion regulation, positive self-talk, and stress-management. Check out specific skills for your child(ren) on their grade level newsletter.
One way to practice these skills at home is to set aside some time to gather as a family and check in with each other. Ask each family member, “How are you feeling today?” Practice Honesty when responding and listen carefully as each family member shares. Use the emotion check-in questions to learn more.
Emotion Check-in Questions:
● Tell me more about that feeling.
● Why do you think you are feeling that emotion?
● What do you need right now?
Take care!
