Principal's Note
Dear Colonial Park Families -
Welcome to February! January seemed extra long this year, and I'm happy to be entering into a new month.
On Friday, we gathered as a school community at our monthly Goldie Gathering. Jiji, our ST Math mascot, was a special guest and joined us to celebrate our school reaching 60% puzzle progress! We recognized our ST Math Rockstars and Preschool and Community Student Spotlights:
ST Math Rockstars:
PK - Luca S.
K - Michael B.
1 - Juliana G. (Juliana also was the top puzzler in the school!)
2 - Jojo S.
3 - Laurie L.
4 - Thomas C.
Student Spotlights:
Ms. Krista - Ghalee L.
Ms. Sue - Emmelia R.
Ms. Courtney - Ava A.
Ms. Kelsey - Stella S.
Community Spotlight - Stephen V.
Valentine's Day is coming up on Wednesday, February 14, and many of our classrooms will participate in a Valentine exchange. Just a reminder, please do not attach food or candy to your child's valentines. Non-food items are definitely fine to provide; however, there is a district-wide policy regarding food being provided or shared with other children. Thank you in advance!
Our 100th day of school is being celebrated on Monday, February 5. This year, inspired by our friends at Robin Hood School, we are having an 80s Spirit Day, in recognition of 80 more school days! We are expecting to see some neon colors, lace, denim, activewear...all the classics!
Just a reminder, February vacation is coming up, and all Stoneham Public Schools will be closed Monday, February 19 through Friday, February 23. All SPS students will have an Early Release Day on Friday, February 16. Students in grades K-4 will be dismissed at 12:00, and our preschool students will be dismissed at 11:40.
I am attaching our February Lunch Menu again this week, in case anyone missed it in last week's edition. Also, our cafeteria supplier, Aramark, has created an informative Schooldish website for families to learn more about the food that is served in our cafeterias. Have a wonderful week!
Best,
Rosa Flynn
