National Bullying Awareness Month
October is National Bullying Awareness Month, an opportunity to encourage the nation to take action at the local level to create safe and supportive organizations.
“The negative effects of bullying can last a lifetime,” said Julie Hertzog, director of the National Bullying Prevention Center. “Calling out bullying behavior and supporting those who are bullied can make a big difference for those who experience bullying.” Bullying is unacceptable, and comments or conduct that disparage or demonstrate hostility or aversion should not be tolerated. Being accepting, kind, and inclusive can help make the world a better place. Together we can create a world without bullying!
International ShakeOut Day - October 17
This year's International ShakeOut Day is October 17, when millions worldwide will participate in earthquake drills at work, school, or home! Participating in an earthquake drill will help you and your loved ones understand what to do in case you are not with them during an earthquake. Make sure you and your children understand what to do at home and our school's emergency procedures for disasters.
