It was great to celebrate Mass and our students of the month this week. Huge shout out to our students of the month for living the value of Respect All Life. It was also great to celebrate a beautiful All Saint's Day Mass today. As we move into November, we look to live our value of cooperation.

This upcoming week also marks the last week of Quarter 1. This means that Friday is the last day for any assignments to count towards Quarter 1 Report Cards. Make sure students are doing their best and having a great conduct week as well. We also will not have school on 11/11 and 11/12 for Veteran's Day weekend.

Next Friday 11/8 is a 12:00 dismissal for all grades. Students will wear their regular Winter uniform, as there will be no gym.

This is also the last day of quarter 1 and the last day teachers can accept any assignments to count towards students' Quarter 1 report card.

There will be no school on Monday Nov. 11th and Tuesday Nov. 12. Enjoy the long weekend!

Reminder that the winter uniform will start on 11/1. This means that students:

• Must wear a white dress shirt / blouse. They cannot wear the polo shirt.
• Boys will need to start wearing the tie with their white dress shirts.
• Students must wear the sweat pants with the gym uniform, no shorts.
• Students cannot wear winter boots, they must change into proper shoes at school

Please be aware that November 5th will be a regular B-day with a 4:00 dismissal. Students should wear there regular B-Day uniform.

Please remember to bring in your Medical Forms. The flue shot is required for students in prek3 and 4! New York State requires all immunizations to be up to date and your child can be excluded from school if they are not completed.

Basketball season has arrived! The first clinic will be this Saturday 11/2 for both boys and girls in grades 5-8. This will be the first practice to get a sense of numbers to set up the practice schedule.

TACHS exam day is here! Students will take the TACHS Exam at OLQA on Friday, using school chromebooks. Students can report to school at regular time, 8:00, and will be dismissed either at 12:00 or when they complete their exam. There are two waves of TACHS tests and it is crucial that you check you email to see the time your child is assigned for the exam.

Please be aware that if your child attends early drop-off more than 3 times in a month, you will be charged for the full month. The cost is $50, and it will be added to your FACTS account. Thank you for your understanding!

We’ve noticed a recent trend where lunches are being dropped off after the school day has started. Please understand that we cannot disturb the class or leave the front desk to deliver lunches, and we are not responsible if a child does not receive their lunch. To avoid any issues, please ensure your child has their lunch with them at drop-off. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

We want to encourage students to regularly attend Mass. As a way to encourage this, we will have a pizza party for students who attend Mass 10 times outside of school between now and December. They can track their Mass attendance using the tracker below.

Also, we encourage students to attend our local Parish, St. Cecilia's (106th Street between Park and Lex). On Sundays, they have Mass at:

• 9:00 (English)
• 11:00 (Spanish)
• 12:30 (Spanish)

Help your children grow in their faith by taking them to Mass! The children DO NOT have to go to st. Cecila's Parish, as long as they are attending a church it does not matter!

We will be implementing Early Drop Off again this year. Early Drop off will now start at 7:15 and go to 7:45. Students will go down to the cafeteria and can have breakfast. The cost is as follows:

• First Child: $50 a month
• Additional children: $25 a month per child

• Update contact information: Please inform us immediately if there are any changes to your contact information. It is crucial that we have the most updated information to reach you in case of an emergency.

Make sure to enter your 3 high school choices for the TACHS exam ASAP. You can enter them at the website listed below.

The TACHS Exam will be on 11/8. There are 2 times when you can take the exam (around 8:30 and 10:00), which are released the week of 11/4. Exams will take place here at school on the school laptops.

Make sure to check your emails this week and to forward your email with the TACHS time to Mr. Sayer at james.sayer@olqaeastharlem.org.

We will host TACHS Prep after school starting on Monday. Details of the program follow below:

• Days of the Week: Monday & Wednesday
• Start Date: 9/23/24
• End Date: 11/6/24
• Cost: $50 total
• Times: 4:15 to 5:15

Metro cards were given to students. If you have not received a metro card please reach out to Ms. Jenniffer. jengarcia@olqaeastharlem.org. There will only be one replacement if the child loses it.

Verification letters for students will be done on Wednesdays ONLY. Please note that creating verification letters takes time. Kindly allow sufficient processing time for your requests. Thank you for your understanding and patience!

Friendly reminder to ensure that you 1) enter from the 2nd Avenue door at dismissal and 2) leave from the 3rd Avenue door. This helps ensure a smooth traffic flow in and out of the gym.

Reminder that beginning of year forms can now be accessed on SchoolAdmin. They need to be completed by 9/8, so please ensure they are signed as soon as possible. The forms to complete are:

We are no longer accepting cash deposits. Please bring in a check or a money order. If you bring cash you will be turned away. Thank you families for understanding.

We suggest you pay online using FACTS. FACTS can also take payments in debit or credit card for your convenience.
