New Grading Guidelines Announced
High School Credit Courses
Parent/Student Summary: English | Spanish
Distance learning completed during the 6th six weeks will only help, not hurt, a student's spring semester grade.
- Courses for high school credit will continue to issue numeric grades.
- Grades earned during the 5th marking period will not be included in the calculation of spring semester averages.
- Six grades will be taken during the 6th marking period, which begins Monday, April 13. Teachers will identify which assignments will be taken for grades.
- All grades will be counted as daily grades.
- There will be no final exams.
Pre-K through 8th Grade (non-high school credit courses)
Parent/Student Summary: English | Spanish
Distance learning work will be used to monitor student progress, grades will not be issued.
- Assignments from the 5th and 6th six weeks will not be included in final grades.
- Pre-K activities will be updated weekly on the district’s Online Support Center. Non-credit courses (K-8th grade) will assign distance learning work using Google Classroom. Supplemental print materials will be available by request through the district’s Online Support Center.
- One priority lesson per content area will be evaluated each week to track student progress. This will result in six total assignments per core content area for the 6th six weeks.
- Distance learning grades will not be entered in Skyward. Teachers will communicate directly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
- Students will be given multiple opportunities to demonstrate progress on distance learning assignments.

Print materials for distance learning are now available by request. Packets in English are available in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 8th and bilingual/dual language packets are available in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 5th.
Each packet contains one activity per week, per content area for the next six weeks.
Print materials are a supplement to online learning, and students are encouraged to continue completing and submitting work through Google Classroom to receive feedback and support from their teachers. High school courses will continue distance learning online using Google Classroom.
