No School Monday, November 11 for Veterans Day
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE - Mr. Goodrich
Nederland Middle-Senior HS Community,
This past week has been a snowy one. I traveled to Florissant on Monday and experienced the 6th grade outdoor experience at High Trails. It is a great opportunity for our students to learn and bond as a class. The snow did not bother kids at all during the week. We want to apologize for the poor transportation experience coming home. The weather had an impact on the return trip from the Springs.
Congratulations to our Ned Cross Country team. The girls team placed 10th for the 2A division. Amika Begin placed 9th and earned All-State honors. Ben Weber placed 32nd in the boys race.
No School on Monday, November 11, it is Veterans Day.

Volunteers Needed at NMSHS! Research consistently shows a strong positive correlation between parent volunteers (parental involvement) and student success. There are currently many opportunities for providing that support at school including student support (tutoring), cafeteria bulletin board assistance, help with the front desk, monthly breakfast treats for our teachers, library assistance, and Harvest Feast! Please see the full list of volunteer opportunities here: https://bvsd.helpatschools.com/schools/45/events
Harvest Feast is approaching! This annual tradition of teachers and students coming together to give thanks and have a wonderful meal together is happening in 2 weeks! We are doing a volunteer sign-up for all food this year, rather than having grades bring in food. Asking students to bring in food without some kind of RSVP made donations unreliable and made for a lot of work for our kitchen volunteers. We need a LOT of volunteers to make this a successful day, from donating a dish to preparing and serving the food. Please help ensure this annual tradition continues by signing up today! https://bvsd.helpatschools.com/schools/45/events/14534
Enjoy the three day weekend,

NMSHS COMMUNITY - HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP!
It takes a village to keep a rural school functioning well and running the fantastic programs and events we do. Please consider donating just a little bit of your time to the NMSHS Community.
Volunteer Help Requested
Some NMHS students require a little help with keeping track of their assignments and course expectations. You can make a huge difference by volunteering. We are seeking a few parents willing to meet individually or in small groups with NMHS students. Volunteers would meet weekly with students who are selected by our school counselor, Ms. Pries. Parents are not required to master content; they are just willing to support our students in knowing what is required, keeping a schedule that supports productivity, and a strategy to avoid forgetfulness or procrastination.
If you are a parent who would like to be part of this project, please sign up with the link. We will provide training and support. Thanks in advance.
