September 2024 Newsletter
INSTRUCTIONAL SCHOOL DAY: 7:45 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.
Hello Lieck Families!
I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the strong start we’ve had and express my gratitude for your ongoing support.
The first few weeks have been incredibly positive, thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of our students, staff, and of course, you—our supportive parent community. Your involvement and encouragement play a crucial role in creating a thriving educational environment, and we deeply appreciate all that you do!!
We will work hard in the coming months to achieve our goals! We are committed to:
- Fostering Academic Excellence: By continuing to implement effective instructional strategies and focusing on individualized support, we aim to help each student achieve their highest potential.
- Enhancing Social and Emotional Development: We will prioritize creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to grow both academically and personally.
- Strengthening School-Home Connections: Building a strong relationship with our school community is vital. We will work diligently to maintain open lines of communication and ensure that parents and guardians are actively engaged in their child’s educational journey.
We believe that a strong partnership between school and home is key to achieving these goals. Your feedback, involvement, and collaboration are invaluable as we work together to support our students’ success. We encourage you to stay connected, participate in school events, and reach out with any questions or concerns.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support. We look forward to a wonderful year ahead, filled with growth, learning, and meaningful connections.
Have a blessed and strong week ahead!

Drop Off & Dismissal Procedures
Drop Off and Dismissal
Parents, you are welcome to walk your child to class before 7:40am.
Please check in with staff in the lobby to receive your pass. You can drop off your child curbside or at the door and our staff will take over from there.
Additionally at dismissal, we highly encourage for families to remain in their vehicle at front pick-up to avoid unsafe, unnecessary crowding. For our "walk-up" parents, we will continue to use the side areas as waiting areas and we will bring your child to you.
All Visitors will need to check in the Front Office for a Pass

A Word from the Nurse
The school nurse does not diagnose illnesses but takes notes of the symptoms and notifies the parent/guardian of the observations. If a child becomes ill or injured at school, the student will be assessed and given first aid, and the parent/guardian will be notified if the severity of the injury or illness warrants such action.
Children should be kept at home when ill and are expected to be free of fever (temperature less than 100.0° F) and free of communicable diseases in order to attend school. In accordance with the Texas Administrative Code, students are required to be excluded from school until fever free for 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medications. The Texas Department of State Health Services defines fever as a temperature of 100.0°F or greater. This is important for the health of the child and for the health of all children at the school.

Buses and Boundaries
Northside ISD assigns students to schools according to the street address where the student resides. Our Boundaries and Buses Information System will provide you with the name and address of the schools serving your area. Just enter the student’s street number and street name to search for school assignment, bus route information, and any future Board adopted boundary changes.
For general boundary information, attendance area maps for each elementary, middle & high schools are listed on the campus sites.
While one-on-one communication is the best, in a district as large as Northside ISD it is sometimes difficult. Because we want our parents to stay informed, NISD has several ways that parents and other interested citizens can stay informed about the successes and challenges of San Antonio’s premier school district of choice, as well as find out news about their children’s schools.
