Happy Holidays to our BLE Families 2024
β¨ Holiday Greetings from the Daniels Desk
We work so well together. It takes a team to develop leaders who Learn Responsibly, Encourage Kindness, Act Respectfully, and Demonstrate Safety. It also takes a team to nurture an inclusive culture that offers a sense of belonging and celebrates every individual's uniqueness and effort. We do lots of hard things at Beadle Lake and operate with a growth mindset. We believe that our students βcanβ so they do and sometimes they also βdoβ with support. Thank you for sharing your amazing children with us every day. Have a wonderful holiday season! π

I absolutely love watching our younger students learn and grow, especially through directed play. Itβs such a rewarding experience to be part of their early educational journey! When I'm away from school, I cherish spending time with my husband and our two adult children. Whether we're enjoying a quiet evening at home or going on new adventures together, family time is something I truly value.

Behaviors at Beadle Lake Elementary
We are so excited to share that DK & 3rd grades were being LEADers all of October, and each had less than 5 behavior referrals for the whole month! Woo Hoo!
The area we saw the highest number of behavior referrals in October was the playground. Please have ongoing conversations with your kiddo(s) at home the importance of safe play while at recess. Specifically, sports at school are for fun, and not competitive like many travel teams are. Although some kids may have years of soccer and/or football practice and game experiences, others may still be learning the fundamentals. School sports at recess are for fun, and for everyone. There are no referees, no trophies, and we LEAD by demonstrating safety! We appreciate your support in reiterating this to your student(s).
December Kindness with Mrs. Ledbetter
Greetings BLE Families & Loved Ones!
We're gearing up for "Do Good December" here at Beadle Lake! This month we plan to intentionally model for our kiddos showing not just kindness to those around us with our words and actions, but also having empathy for others. Often times feeling sympathy for someone is easier for kids, as they can relate if they've been in a similar situation. And although being sympathetic to others is important, so is being aware that just because we may not experience the same challenges or feelings as others, we can think about how they may feel, and work on thinking about "if we were in their shoes". Taking time to think about things from someone else's point of view is important to maintaining positive relationships! As always, thanks for working with us in all aspects of your kiddo's education: academics, social emotional, and behavioral.
Your Partner In Education,
Mrs. Ledbetter

Itβs that time of year when the sun goes down early and our evenings are longer. Playing outside is decreasing, sadly. How can we have fun inside and still practice reading and math? Playing games! There are so many board games and card games that we can play with our kids to build in family time and learning time. I want to share some ideas on how to connect with your kids while building their academics. Board games can help teach kids how to take turns, follow game rules, and learn to handle themselves when the game doesnβt go their way. Teaching kids that playing games is not about winning and losing as much as itβs about having fun and spending time together is so important. Great games that have maintained longevity are Sorry, Sequence, Parcheesi, Trouble, and Scrabble. For math, fun games include Yahtzee, Tenzi, and card games like War. If you need more ideas, please reach out to me! Happy Gaming Friends!!!
