Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
SCHOOL-WIDE CELEBRATIONS
As we work together as a school family on making positive choices, our students are focusing upon meeting school-wide goals.
Students achieved an overall 97% positive last week and
were close to meeting their goal.
Students are still working for extra recess and popsicles
on the playground on Tuesday, May 28th!!!
Students need one week of overall 98% on ClassDojo!
Health Room Corner
We have noticed an increase in foot and ankle injuries lately, which appear to be related to the type of footwear some students are wearing.
For safety reasons, students should not wear slippers, slides, or any open-backed shoes to school, especially during physical education classes.
During recess, which is held outdoors, it is crucial for students to wear enclosed footwear to protect their feet from potential hazards such as rocks, mulch, and other objects that could cause cuts or injuries.
Counselor's Corner
May Counseling Focus!
In May, our RES Counselor, Mrs. Britt, is visiting all classrooms to teach lessons about our character trait and mindset of the month.
Students are learning about peace and working on developing a "I got this" mindset.
Friday, June 7th, is our
May Character Trait & Mindset Recognition Ceremony!
May Kindness Calendar for Students!
In addition to our monthly character trait and mindset, our RES students, families and staff will continue to practice acts of kindness all year long. CLICK HERE to view and print the kindness calendar for MAY.
Students: For every kindness task our students complete, they will check it off their calendars. Students may return their calendar to their homeroom teacher, or to Mrs. Britt on Monday, June 3rd.
Students with 20 or more completed tasks will join Mrs. Britt
in painting kindness rocks for our rock garden!
Mindfulness Tip
Handwritten Letter/Card Handwritten Letter/Card
When’s the last time you received a hand written letter or card? Did you receive it in the mail or as a note card passed off in-person to you? How did it make you feel?
Handwritten letters have been replaced by text messages and emails. While technology makes communicating easier and faster than ever before, it just doesn’t have “soul.” Handwritten letters and cards are time consuming, yet wonderfully meditative.
Think of someone you haven't talked to in a while or
someone you enjoy being around.
Let’s write them a thoughtful handwritten letter
to put a smile on their face.
