WHEN ARE CONFERENCES? This fall, we will again offer parents live, online interactions with our teachers during Parent-Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, October 18 (4:30-8:00 p.m.) and Thursday, October 19 (12:00-8:00 p.m.). Conferences are one of the most valuable tools we have to foster our strong partnerships between home and school. Please disregard any wording on Meet The Teacher platform that states In-Person conferences. This fall’s conferences, we will continue to use Zoom and a Zoom Directory will be shared with you closer to the start of conferences.
WHEN DOES REGISTRATION START? Conference registration will open on Wednesday, October 4, at 6:00 a.m. and will continue through Thursday, October 14 at 3:00 p.m.
HOW DO I REGISTER? Conference scheduler login information will be sent to the primary contact email for your student, along with step-by-step instructions for registering. Please keep an eye open for this information. Registration codes and directions will be available to you in the Parent Portal (on the form marked "Student Information for the 2023-24 School Year"), at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? During conferences, your classroom teacher will discuss academic and social-emotional goals, discuss how the learning experience is progressing at school and at home, and share details about the classroom community with you. This is a collaborative meeting between families and teachers when we can answer your questions. We are so proud of our students and their strong start. Thank you so much for your ongoing support and partnership.

Fall Kindness Krew Club starts October 2
Calling 4th- & 5th-grade students! Join the Wescott Kindness Krew! In this after-school club, students will spread kindness around the school by helping teachers with various classroom projects and assisting the Helping Hands committee when needed. Krew members will also come up with their own ideas for spreading kindness around Wescott.
The club will meet on Monday from 3:20 to 4:20 p.m. beginning October 2, running eight weeks through December 4. (No meeting on October 23 or October 30.)
Parents will be required to arrange transportation of their children from school grounds. Since crossing guards are not on duty, any student who walks home needs parental permission.
Please note, completing the form does not guarantee admission. Mrs. J will contact you if your student is in the club. Contact Mrs. Janavicius with questions: mjanavicius@district30.org
Clay Club starts October 2
Wescott is offering an after school Clay Club for 4th- and 5th-grade students. In this club, students will focus on handbuilding clay techniques and learn the basics of the potter's wheel!
Clay Club will be held on either Mondays or Wednesdays from 3:20-4:20 p.m. in the Art Room (128). The Monday club will begin Monday, October 2 and continue for eight weeks through Monday, November 27. There will be no Monday club on October 9.
The Wednesday club will begin Wednesday, October 4 and continue for eight weeks through Wednesday, November 29. There will be no Wednesday club on November 22.
Ukulele Club starts October 3
Ukulele Club is an after school club for 3rd-graders. In this club students will work with Mr. Coaxum as they learn basic ukulele technique and eventually work toward developing advanced techniques. By December, your child will be able to perform melodies using basic treble clef music notation, and will also learn to sing while simultaneously playing chords to basic songs.
This club will provide a great forum for 3rd-graders to learn, practice, and create as they begin their journey on the ukulele. Ukulele Club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning in October. Each 3rd-grader is allowed to attend one of the two sessions each week.
If your child is interested in participating you can sign them up using the button below.

Health exam requirements
For all students new to District 30, state regulations require a State of Illinois Health Examination Form completed within the last 12 months. This must be on file in the health office prior to the first day of school. If your child does not have a Health Examination Form on file with all current immunizations, your child could be excluded from school.
Kindergarten students are also required to have a completed State of Illinois Eye Examination Form by October 15. The exam must have been performed on or after August 23, 2022, one year from the start of school.
Dental examinations are required for all kindergarten and grade 2 students. Examinations must be completed within 18 months of the May 15, 2024 deadline. These forms can be obtained from the health office and are also available on our website. If you have questions, please call the front office at 847-498-1090.
If your student requires medication or a health care plan, please click here to download all of the necessary forms. If forms are not completed by the opening of school, we will abide by the health care plan from the previous year for those students with life-threatening food allergies or medical conditions.
Make a difference
The Wescott Helping Hands Committee is collecting pop tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House. The pop tabs will be recycled and the money is used to help support the families that stay there. Students can bring their pop tabs to their teachers for collection. Classes are collecting pop tabs all year long!
