Dear RHS Students and Families -
Greetings from Rosemount High School! The start of the 2024-2025 school year is quickly approaching and we are thrilled to welcome back ALL students for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 28. The purpose of this communication is to provide important reminders for key dates, events, and other start of the year information. While this message contains a large amount of information and links, it is all-inclusive and should be referenced first when questions arise from students and families. Please visit the RHS website for updated information.
More than ever, we look forward to focusing on our work with students, establishing positive relationships, and helping and supporting them through the learning and growth process. Please assume positive intentions and a student focused approach when working with teachers, administrators, and other staff throughout the year. Students benefit from strong connections between school and home; we are better when working together!
Go Irish!! ☘️
Sincerely,
Pete Roback
Principal

Before and After School/Visitors
- The building will be open at 7:00am. The school day ends at 2:30 and students must leave the building at that time (unless they are rostered in a cocurricular activity scheduled for that day or working directly with a teacher). Please plan your transportation to and from RHS to allow for these times.
- All visitors must have a scheduled appointment and check-in with Campus Security at the Main Entrance.
Look for upcoming messaging about student schedules to be posted in Campus. Schedules have been finalized, but with many new families and students enrolling just prior to the start of school, RHS reserves the right to make adjustments to ensure the lowest class sizes and best learning environment for our students. Counselors will respond to schedule questions through the process explained in the upcoming messaging when they return to work in mid-August.

Student iPads
District 196 iPad User Agreement and Yearly Protection Plan
District 196 offers an optional Yearly Protection Plan to families for $20 per iPad to cover the cost of potential theft and damage throughout the school year. The plan is free for students eligible for the Educational Benefits Program, so it is recommended that parents and guardians complete that application first. The Educational Benefits application is available at District196.org; select Services from the main menu, then Nutrition Services.
LINK to the District Protection Plan Letter (within the letter are the translation links).
All families are asked to review and acknowledge the iPad Student User Agreement and either accept or decline the optional Yearly Protection Plan by Sept. 23, 2024. Until that date, the district will cover damages (not loss) to allow families time to complete the review and sign-up process.
Student Meals
Breakfast and Lunch
For the 2024-2025 school year, meals are free for all students. All families are highly encouraged to complete an Application for Educational Benefits (below). Your approved application provides critical funding to our school district. This compensatory aid helps increase funding for teachers, paraprofessionals and social workers to include math and reading support. An approval for educational benefits also allows families to receive discounted Activities/Athletics/Community Education fees.
