Tips and Tricks for Successful Syncing

This is a two-step process:
- Select Grade Setup and create your Daily and Test Categories
- Configure your Grade book from the Skyward app found in the left side menu bar.
*Even if your classes are linked. You must configure each class grade book.
Time to Sync
From your Schoology Gradebook, you can Sync by hitting the "Sync changes to Skyward" button. Remember that syncing is one way - it only sends the grades to Skyward.
Helpful Tips and Tricks
When creating your assignment...
Give each assignment a unique name.
Select the correct marking period.
Select a category.
Include a due date. Don't change due dates after you have already synced the assignment. Skyward will think it is a new assignment and create another assignment in your gradebook.
Assignments Missing or Sync Errors - Checkout Bulk Edit
The bulk edit feature in your gradebook let's you quickly fix due dates, marking periods, categories, and even the option to sync or not sync all of your assignments in on place. It is found in your gradebook toolbar next to the plus sign, under the three little dots.
The image on the right shows you were to find this feature and the image below shows you what the bulk edit screen looks like.
Check Your Sync Log for Errors
If you click on the clipboard icon in your Schoology gradebook, this will let you know what assignments synced to Skyward and if there were any errors. If you have errors, check your bulk edit screen first for due dates, categories, and marking periods. Sometimes it helps to sync a single assignment from the sync status log by clicking the sync button beside the individual assignment.
