Pirate Notes for the Week of March 30, 2025 - April 6, 2025
Dear Pirate Families ,
Dear Pirate Families,
I hope you had a fantastic weekend! This is a reminder that there will be no school on Monday, March 31, in observance of Cesar Chavez Day. Enjoy the day off!
If you are not familiar with Cesar Chavez , he was a civil rights leader and labor activist who dedicated his life to fighting for the rights of farmworkers. Chávez co-founded the United Farm Workers (UFW) and advocated for fair wages, better working conditions, and labor rights through peaceful protests and nonviolent resistance. If you are interested in knowing more about Cesar Chavez i have included a link. https://chavezfoundation.org/about-cesar-chavez/
This week our Performing Arts Department will perform the Spring Musical Mama Mia! The Show starts Thursday, April 3- April 5th.
State Assessment for 11th Graders – April 8th-10th
Next week, all 11th graders will take the State Assessment from April 8th to April 10th. The rest of the school will follow a special testing schedule during these days.
Important Reminders for Juniors:
-
All juniors must arrive at school by 8:30 AM.
-
Students must bring their school-issued Chromebook for testing.
-
If a Chromebook is not working properly or a student does not have one, they should check it now. If a replacement is needed, they must visit the book room to exchange it before testing begins.
- On Thursday the Senior Class must be at school at 8:30 for the State Health Mandate Requirements.
- All students will follow a Special Testing Schedule on Tuesday, April 8th - Thursday, April 10th . Please see the schedule Special Testing Schedule .
During the CAASPP state testing students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and the SBAC assessment results give students an early indication of how prepared they are to tackle college-level courses and the increasing demands of the workplace. Students with an EAP status of Standard Exceeded on the SBAC are considered ready to enroll directly in college level English and/or math courses at a CSU or other colleges or universities participating in EAP. (For additional information please continue to read WHY THE SBAC TEST MATTERS).
