AND...
A Note from Your Principals
Progress Reports
Next Wednesday, March 6th, Trimester #2 progress reports will be distributed electronically, providing you with an updated snapshot of your child’s academic and social growth.
Our standards-based grading system focuses on measuring students’ progress toward specific, end-of-the-year learning goals rather than traditional letter grades. The number grades highlight what your child knows and can do, identifying areas of strength and opportunities for growth. Please note: Because we are assessing students' progress towards end-of-year expectations, and it's only February, you should not be alarmed if your child has 2s at this point in the year.
As you review the progress report, take note of any patterns in your child’s learning and jot down questions or observations to discuss during your upcoming parent-teacher conference. To prepare, consider asking about strategies to support your child at home and any next steps for their learning journey.
We value our partnership with families and look forward to meaningful conversations that support student success!

South Windsor Public Schools is excited to welcome our 2025 - 2026 Kindergarten class! Your child is about to take an exciting next step in their education. We are looking forward to the beginning of a collaborative partnership between home and school in order to provide a successful transition for both your child and your family.
The South Windsor full-day kindergarten program is available to children who are residents of South Windsor and who are (or will be) age five (5) on or before September 1, 2025.
*If your child’s birthday is after September 1, 2025, and you would like them considered for kindergarten this fall, you may fill out the pre-registration form and check the appropriate box and the principal will schedule an assessment to determine if admitting your child would be developmentally appropriate.
If you have a child, or know someone who does, that is eligible for Kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year, please visit the link below! There you will find information about the registration process (and be able to begin registration), find answers to commonly asked questions, and learn a bit more about Eli Terry!
