Smiles for Miles
Welcome, Author Rebecca Siegel!
We’re thrilled to welcome author Rebecca Siegel to our school library! Ms. Siegel's book, Loch Ness Uncovered: Media, Misinformation, and the Greatest Monster Hoax of All Time was recently nominated for the NYPL's Best Books of 2024 list!
On January 10th, 6th graders will participate in an inspiring writing workshop during their ELA blocks. Then, on February 28th, Rebecca will return to speak with 7th and 8th graders during Colt Times about her writing journey and the critical topic of misinformation and how it fueled the hoax of the Loch Ness monster.
This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn from a professional author and grow their writing and critical thinking skills! Ms. Siegel’s books are available for sale through the Revtrak site.
A Reminder About End of the Day Pickup Procedures
We would like to kindly remind all families of our school’s dismissal procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
For the safety of everyone, students must be picked up through the designated car pickup line and in the loading zones. Students are not permitted to walk into the parking lot to be picked up, nor are they allowed to be picked up in the new parking lot near the ELC lot. These areas are not safe for student pickup, and your cooperation is essential in maintaining a secure environment for all.
We also ask for your patience and kindness during dismissal. As the parking lot can become congested with parents picking up their children and others leaving the lot, we kindly ask that you remain respectful and considerate of others. A little extra patience and courtesy goes a long way in making the process smoother for everyone.
By following the designated routes we can ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all.
Thank you for your understanding and support. We appreciate your continued commitment to keeping our school community safe.
