Vol. 6 Issue: 5 "NWA'S PREMIER PRIVATE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL"
ADVOCACY: NO LONGER AN ELECTIVE
"A primary object should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a republic, what species of knowledge can be equally important and what duty more pressing that communicating it to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of the country?"
- George Washington
This week I will be in Washington D.C. representing the all of Christian schools in the state of Arkansas that are accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International. I will be serving in the role of ACSI State Representative/Field Director at the ACSI Divisional Council Meeting and the National Public Policy and Advocacy Summit. Through this summit we will be able to hear from and engage with some of our top educational professionals and our nations leaders with regard to Christian Education.
As I stated in our State of the School Address during Parent Night. Advocacy is no longer an elective for Christian School administrators. We have to engage.
"Christian Education is a minority culture, but we have yet to adopt the mindset of one. We have to find our voice."
Part of finding our voice is to engage with our national leaders and the top professionals in our field of education. Pray for our nations leaders and that this week will be filled with healthy conversations.
We also have a group of our history students going to D.C. this week. I believe it is crucially important for our students to see our capitol and to be students of our government. The more they can understand government the more power they have to impact it. I hope to see them there!
Lead NWA well this week!
- Dr. Keith McDaniel
