Please contact the School Counseling Office with any questions regarding this information.

Important Tasks for Juniors

11th grade students MUST set up their Parchment account, following the directions at tinyurl.com/cyhsparchment. Only ⅓ of juniors have done this so far! (If you can’t remember if you created your Parchment account, try logging on to their website.) It’s ALSO time for college-bound juniors to register for the SAT or ACT. Go to sat.org and act.org for information, free preparation tools, and registration. If you get free or reduced price lunch, ask your counselor for a fee waiver!

Seniors, don’t miss out on scholarship applications!

Info about scholarships and financial aid is available at tinyurl.com/CentralYorkfinancialaid. Our scholarship list is updated weekly and includes many scholarships that are available only to CYHS students! See details about how to submit scholarship applications at tinyurl.com/scholarshipprocedure. Please also consider attending one of Commonwealth University’s Virtual Financial Aid 101 Information Sessions to help students and their families understand the financial aid process on March 20, and April 23 at 7pm. Families should register online in advance.

2025 Advanced Placement (AP) Testing Information

AP Exam registration forms for second semester AP classes were distributed to students in early February. The cost for each exam is $99. The registration form and deposit monies are due in the School Counseling Office by 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 6. Please contact Mrs. Foery with any questions regarding the exam registration process.

Central PA College Fair March 12

Students and parents are encouraged to attend the Central PA Regional College Fair from 6 to 8 pm on March 12 at Messiah University, where you will be able to interact with representatives from many different colleges and universities. Students are encouraged to register for a barcode at StriveFair.com, so they can show their barcode to colleges who will scan it to send them more info about their schools.

Testing accommodations on the PSAT, SAT, and AP Exams

Students who receive testing accommodations (like extended time or extra breaks) on their classroom tests and Keystones also can request to have these accommodations for College Board tests (PSAT, SAT, and AP exams). Students must ask their school counselor for the consent form. The approval process for accommodations can take several weeks (and is not guaranteed), so students should submit the form well in advance of their next scheduled exam!

NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Eligibility

Student-athletes planning to play sports in college should learn about the NCAA initial eligibility requirements at tinyurl.com/CYHSNCAA and see their school counselor with any questions.

PEER TUTORING

Available daily during FLEX, peer tutoring can be requested at tinyurl.com/cyhstutoring. Students wanting to be peer tutors can sign up at tinyurl.com/be-a-peer-tutor.
