ROCKLAND HIGH WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
September 13, 2024
UPDATES
On Monday, September 9 approximately 20 fall student athlete leaders attended a conference at Abington High School along with their peers from across the South Shore League. Breakout sessions attended by student leaders included:
- Leadership Through the Lens of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- How Your Experiences as a Student Athlete Directly Translate to Future Success
- Actionable Leadership Strategies through Real-Life Situations
- General Leadership Instruction
- Skills that Least Beyond Athletic Competition
Huge thanks to the Abington Schools and Abington athletic director Peter Serino for hosting and to Rockland's own AD Dan Kimball for coordinating the event.
On September 11, sophomore James Galvin did an outstanding job reading a tribute to those lost in the terror attacks of 2001 to remind our school community of the significance of that fateful day.
Thank you to the Rockland Trust Company for their generous donation of 14 golf bags for the golf team. See the photo below.

FROM THE HEALTH OFFICE
We are seeing lots of sniffles and coughs at school already. It can be hard to tell if your child has a cold or seasonal allergies.
Treat at home with over-the-counter non-drowsy allergy or cold medications according to symptoms.
Remember to keep your child home if they have a fever.
See your pediatrician or urgent care if needed.
Drink plenty of water.
You can always reach out with questions or concerns.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Tonight is the home opener for varsity football against West Bridgewater. Come show your support for the team!
Back to School Night is next Wednesday, September 18 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Please refer to the attached schedule and have your students share their classes with you. Families will gather in the auditorium for opening remarks from 6:30-6:45 PM and then follow their student's schedule.
Finally, I want to encourage students to find a club or activity and get involved! Please see the attached list of clubs and their meeting times. Starting next week, a late bus will be available on Monday through Wednesday so bus students can stay after school for extra help or to participate in clubs and activities.
Go Bulldogs!
Sincerely,
Cheryl Schipper
