Hello Port Gardner Families!
We hope you have had a great summer! We are excited to partner together with you for a great educational adventure this school year! We look forward to seeing you for our Mandatory Opening Day for Port Gardner on Wednesday, September 4th. We will start with a Zoom for all families in the morning at 10:00 a.m. Students should attend the first 5 minutes of the Zoom – we want to see your student’s smiling faces. There is also a required curriculum and computer pick up in the afternoon at your family’s designated time. Bring your student and the whole family on Opening Day for a first day of school photo booth for you to take pictures. Our PTSA has a special treat and we are expecting great weather! All the important details are below. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!

Wednesday, September 4, AFTERNOON:
Come in person to campus to pick up your student’s device, curriculum*, sign paperwork and get your First Day of School photo booth pictures!
- Pull into the PGS/Sequoia parking lot off of 36th St and find parking.
- Start by going to the PGS Meet & Greet table.
- If you haven’t already, fill out your annual update online at: https://www.everettsd.org/Page/26203
- If you haven't already, complete the Food Services application: https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application
- The school nurse will be here to accept any paperwork you may have related to student health needs.
- Consider bringing something to wheel or carry your curriculum to your vehicle.
Students with last names A – F come from **12:45 -1:15 pm
Students with last names G – P come from 1:15 -1:45 pm
Students with last names R – Z come from 1:245 - 2:15 pm
*New families will pick up curriculum on Thursday at their Grade Level Meeting.
**Group A -F: For safety in the parking lot, please be aware your arrival time will be around the same time as Sequoia dismissal.
New Family Schedule for Sept 5th
Wednesday, Sept 4, Attend the morning Zoom and come in the afternoon for device pickup. See above.
Thursday, Sept 5, Attend a New Family Grade Level Meeting Curriculum Pick Up and Trainings, held at Port Gardner. This is a mandatory meeting which will cover curriculum and planning for your student’s grade level.
Grade K- 2 -- 9:00 to 10:30 am
Grade 3 – 8 -- 10:30 to noon
Student Learning Plan Appointment Sign Ups?
SLP Week is September 9-12
As of today, we will be having sign ups for Student Learning Plan (SLP) Appointments in person on Opening Day. Watch your email for further details.

Mandy comes from us as a familiar face as she stepped in last school year to help us with much needed sub support from Sequoia. Mandy has officially accepted the Port Gardner Para Educator position and we are so excited to have Mandy part of the PGS Team!

School Picture Day is Thursday, September 12th!
Picture Day Details
Come to the Gym with your student ready to go before the camera.
Here are the times you can drop in: 8:30-9:00 am AND 11:15 am to 1:30 pm
DETAILS:
- PGS students have a picture taken for yearbook and school ID.
- Parents come during one of the drop in times listed above and visit the PGS Picture Day table to pick up your student's ticket to give to the photographer.
- Families may choose to purchase individual photos by ordering online within 4 days of picture day.
- Ordering is optional as every student will get a student ID at no charge. Go to Dorianstudio.com to order your pictures or there will be an order information for you on picture day.
- A School ID card will be provided for each student at no charge. ID cards will not be printed or reprinted on retake day.
- For students in class: Individual pictures are taken outside of scheduled class times.
Retakes
Retakes will be available October 23rd for students who missed picture day or would like a new photo taken. Students wanting retakes need to return original picture packet or purchase a new picture packet.
