Save the Date for these upcoming PTA sponsored events
PTA Meeting
· Next meeting is Wednesday, February 5th, 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM in the Computer Lab (parents need to check in at the front office before heading to the meeting for a name tag - drivers license/ID is required)
· PTA Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month
· ALL parents are welcome to attend any PTA meeting. Younger siblings are welcome, and parents are welcome to show up after 9AM if preschool drop-offs or other schedule needs make it hard to be there right at 9AM. We would love to have you!
STEAM Night
Pierce will hosting STEAM night and the Science Fair the evening of Friday, January 31st, 5:30-7:30pm!
If you weren't able to attend last year, it's a fun family night with hands-on activities for the kids, and many volunteer opportunities. The MI Science Center, The Robot Garage and our own Lego League will be there to facilitate science activities for the whole elementary school. We will also have a raffle where kids can win STEAM related items as well. Tickets for the event can be bought on MTK shortly.
VOLUNTEERS WANTED:
Parents, grandparents, caregivers, middle school and high school students are encouraged to volunteer. For middle school and high school volunteers they are eligible to earn service hours and will be entered into a volunteer raffle to win gift cards. Reflections Update
We are excited to announce that several of our students have been recognized as district winners in this year’s Reflections Art Program! Their outstanding work, inspired by the theme "Accepting Imperfection," will now move on to the state level of judging.
Special recognition goes to:

· Dance Choreography: Esti Weisberg, Mae LeDuc
· Film Production: Lev Mutchnick Lee
· Photography: Seth Bayer
· Music Composition: Timothee Materne
We look forward to celebrating everyone's achievements at the Reflections Recognition Ceremony on April 10, 2025, at 9:30 AM.
BBCC + PTSA Parenting With Insight Event
The BPS middle and high schools are partnering with BBCC to provide an engaging parenting event on 2/27. All are invited to attend.
Friends of Different Learners
FODL has three community events scheduled for the spring. Please see below for the details.
Wednesday Feb 12th at 7pm - Joel Pearlman will be presenting virtually on building personalized plans of support for families with a loved one with special needs.
Wednesday March 12th at 6:30pm - Leah Marchetti will be presenting in person on how to expand your child's language through different processing methods. This talk will be in person at the BCS Media Center.
Winter Book Club
The pierce Parent book club has chosen the book, Simplicity Parenting: Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier, and More Secure Kids for our winter reading. More details to come!
Accelerated Reader
Accelerated Reader (AR) is a PTA sponsored program to drive reading and reading
comprehension for grades 2-5. Our 2nd Harvest for this school year closes on Tuesday,
February 11th, at noon. Students MUST have earned ONE point during every harvest this year
in order to be eligible for the end-of-the-year AR party.
For anyone who has achieved the ‘purple star’, please send in a picture no bigger than 4 x 6 to
the office so we can hang it up on the AR Celebration Board outside the Pierce Library!
