Curtis Chronicles
September 11, 2023
Welcome from Curtis Principal, Sonya Pitcock
Cougar families,
Thanks so much for supporting your students following the expectations at the Friday night high school football games. We have seen an increase in students following expectations and staying in their section to watch the games and be with friends. We will continue to expect students to have their physical ID to be able to sit in the middle school section and will continue to expect them to remain in the middle school area of the concourse for concessions and restrooms before returning to their seats. Go Eagles!
Clubs and tutoring have started, so make sure you and your students are listening to announcements in Tracks classes AND checking the website for daily announcements. We would love to see students get involved in clubs and activities on campus to find new friends who have similar interests.
We are coming up on the first grade report for UIL on September 22. Make sure you are checking skyward for student progress and reaching out to their teachers if your child needs support in a class. All teachers offer tutoring sessions for students who need additional help. Students must be passing their classes to participate in sports and fine arts extracurricular activities.
Parent survey – We want to support you in navigating middle school. Please complete this short survey to let us know what you need the most support with. Once we have the feedback we will design learning for parents in a variety of formats to meet your needs. Please complete the survey by September 22, 2023. Parent survey link
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Sonya Pitcock
Principal
Curtis Middle School
