As we get ready to open a new school year, I wanted to welcome the families that are new to King Liholiho Elementary School! Newsletters like this one will be sent home regularly throughout the school year to the email address on file. If you would like to add/change an email address, please contact the office.

Newsletters can be translated into various languages. You access the translation feature one of two ways:

1. Click on the world 'Translate' at the top right of the email.

2. Click anywhere on the newsletter in the email to open the online version. Then click on "Translate" at the top of the page.

Students born between August 1, 2018 through July 31, 2019 are eligible for Kindergarten. If you haven't done so already, please register your child with the office as soon as possible!

The school is still accepting Geographic Exceptions for the upcoming school year. If you know of any families interested in sending their child to Liholiho, in any grade K-5, please ask them to contact our office. We can be reached at (808) 733-4850.

King Liholiho's Welcome Back Night is Wednesday, July 31, 2024, 4-6pm. A letter was mailed home with your child's new homeroom placement and more information on the night. A copy of the letter is attached below, along with some information about the programs expected to participate in our Welcome Back Night. Please mark your calendars - this is a great opportunity to meet your child's teacher as well as sign up for afterschool programs!

If you've registered your child to attend Liholiho this upcoming school year and haven't received a letter from our school, please contact our office.

School supply lists are available below, or on our school's website. Hard copies were mailed home in early July and are available in the school's office.

The school will be continuing a six day rotation for our 'specials' classes this school year. The calendar below includes a color coded rotation as well as other key dates throughout the school year. A hard copy flip calendar will again be provided to each family once the school year starts.

Kindergarten has a modified schedule to help our youngest learners find success in their new environment. Please note this applies to Kindergarten only.

July 24, 25, and 26 are reserved for Kindergarten screening. If your child is in Kindergarten and you do not yet have a screening date/time, please contact the office at (808) 733-4850.

8/5/24 - First day for Kindergarten students in Group A

8/6/24 - First day for Kindergarten students in Group B

8/7/24 - All Kindergarten students in school (Both group A & B)

8/16/24 - Statehood day

8/19/24 - First day of specials

9/2/24 - Labor Day
