Title I
- Title I is a federal program designed to support school reform efforts to improve teaching and learning for all students.
- Title I programs are based on effective means of improving student achievement and include strategies to support family engagement.
- The Title I Office reserves at least one percent of the district’s allocation to fund family and community engagement programs. The use of these funds is based on suggestions gathered at our spring Planning Meetings from families and community members.
ParentSquare
We are excited to announce that our school district has adopted a new form of school-to-home communication called ParentSquare. This unified communications platform is designed to keep parents and guardians informed and encourage greater engagement and connection with your child’s school and Gwinnett County Public Schools.
ParentSquare provides a safe way for district administrators, school principals, teachers, staff, and parents to receive and send information, such as:
- Weather-related closings & delays
- School information
- Share pictures and files
- See calendar items
- Upcoming school activities
Beginning July 18, 2023, district and school information will now be sent to your computer or phone via email and/or text via ParentSquare. For even more convenience, download the ParentSquare app (available for free for iOS and Android devices). Please note that Mountain Park staff will communicate with parents via Class Dojo and email.
Beginning of School Reminders
Just a few general reminders as we prepare to embark on the best school year ever!!
We encourage everyone to establish what will be the "normal" daily routine beginning on Day One.
- We will have all hands on deck throughout the school to make sure each student is able to navigate their way to the appropriate classroom.
Be prepared to be patient during the first week as we work to teach students our afternoon dismissal procedures.
- The first week always takes a little bit longer, but we will get it down to a science before long!
- As the drivers get to know students and routes, we will see an improvement each day.
- Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure that each child gets home the right way!
Please remember that “park and walk” is NOT an option.
Lunch visitors are not allowed until the second full week of school.

Play2Learn
Mountain Park ES will offer a birth to five program called Play2Learn. We will hold two classes, one on Tuesdays and one on Thursdays. These classes will run from 9:00-10:30 and begin Tuesday, August 8. Contact Charlotte Thomas at charlotte.r.thomas@gcpsk12.org for questions.
Student Password Reset
On July 17, 2023, your student’s password was reset to reflect their birthday.
To access the student portal, your student will be required to type their numeric birthday in the password field using two digits for their birth month, two digits for their birthday, and four digits for their birth year (MMDDYYY). For example, if your student’s birth occurred on June 9, 2015, their reset password would be 06092015.
Students in Grades K-5 will retain their birthdate password for the 2023-24 school year.
The privacy and security of the information belonging to our students, families, and employees is a strategic priority, and we appreciate your support in the district’s efforts.
Please email any concerns you may have about the password reset process to data.privacy@gcpsk12.org.
