We welcome Eric Dahlman as the new Activities Director at Mankato West High School.
Mr. Dahlman worked at Valley View Middle School in Edina, Minnesota as a Physical Education Teacher. He also served as a South View Middle School Health teacher, AVID teacher, and Roosevelt High School Health Teacher in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

School Choice Coming Fall 2025
Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, Jefferson Elementary and Rosa Parks Elementary will transition into magnet schools. These schools will join Bridges Community School as additional choices for elementary students and families.
What is a magnet/choice school?
Magnet schools are an innovative approach to public education, offering specialized programs focused on themes with a unique curricular emphasis. Magnet schools attract a diverse student body fostering a rich learning environment. They provide students with hands-on, immersive experiences and tailored learning opportunities.
How will enrollment be determined at the magnet schools?
Families in the current Jefferson and Rosa Parks attendance areas will have the first opportunity to register for their respective schools. Once neighborhood enrollment is determined, remaining seats will be open to the entire MAPS community.
Coming next:
How will the school theme be determined?

24-25 MAPS Annual Census Verification is Now OPEN!
Each year, Mankato Area Public Schools asks our families to review and update student and family contact information through the online census verification. This ensures that student information is accurate. We are asking that you complete your family's census verification online through your Campus Parent account by August 21, 2024.
Device Protection (grades 6-12): With the school board approved budget adjustment, Mankato Area Public Schools requires all families to purchase device protection for student(s) in 6th through 12th grade. The cost to families is $25 per device.
As we prepare for the upcoming school year and families begin to update their information through our annual census, families will notice the device protection fee applied to their Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. A $25 fee will be applied to each student account that is in 6th through 12th grade.
More information about the coverage of device protection can be found HERE.

MAPS Alumni Spotlight - Jillian Hiscock
How did MAPS prepare you for what you do now?
I was encouraged to be a lot of “things”: All-State Choir, 3 sport athlete, ensemble cast member in theater, and Pep Club member. It was great to grow and develop in so many ways through activities, academics, and just really great relationships with peers and teachers!
