CONGRATULATIONS, SYMPHONIC WINDS!
Congratulations to ALL Bands!
For the first time in 7 years, all bands attended UIL and earned Sweepstakes Awards! The Sweepstakes Award is the highest honor a middle school band can earn at UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation, and is only given to bands who perform their prepared music as well as sight reading (an entire piece of music learned in 7-8 minutes) at the highest possible level.
We are so proud of ALL of our 7th and 8th grade band students and look forward to watching them compete successfully at NTFD later this month!

Beginning Band Olympics
Reynolds Beginning Band students have officially kicked off the annual beginning band olympics! Band Olympics consists of many "events" that students perform in order to earn points. Points can be earned by getting an "A" on a playing test, performing items before/after class or during Eagle Time, or by submitting videos to Google Classroom. Google Classroom is the fastest way for students to earn points! (Instructions can be found in Google Classroom)
Throughout the year, students will earn prizes and recognition for their participation in band olympics. Each week, students should be aiming to earn at least 10 points in band olympics. All students are required to earn 50 points by April as one of the qualifications to go on our Spring Trip to NRH20.
The Live Leader Board is linked below for families to view at any time!

RESOURCES
PRIVATE LESSONS
Access at reynoldsband.com/lessons
Private lessons are a vital part of any successful band program and are what make the Reynolds band students really great musicians! Prosper ISD bands are very fortunate to have a staff of incredibly highly qualified teachers that have been vetted by the same intensive processes as all Prosper ISD school teachers. We very highly recommend that any and all band students enroll lessons offered through the Reynolds Band. Additionally, most students who take lessons from Reynolds lesson staff are able to take lessons during band class!
Clarinet, saxophone, percussion, and trumpet families: Due to the high demand of last year's groups, we have hired additional staff for these instruments to make sure that all students who want lessons can take lessons! However, these sections tend to fill up FAST - we highly recommend signing up sooner than later to ensure a spot in the studio!
For more information about our lesson program, please visit reynoldsband.com/lessons or click the link below to enroll your child in the 2023-2024 Reynolds Band Private Lesson program today!
2023-2024 Band Calendar
The 2023-2024 Reynolds Band Calendar is available in 2 formats: Google Calendar and in spreadsheet format. We recommend subscribing to the Google Calendar as well as printing out a paper copy to keep on the fridge at home! However, please note that the calendar could be updated throughout the year as we are given access to STAAR test dates, etc. We recommend double checking for any calendar changes periodically throughout the year (every month or so is recommended).
If you need a printed calendar, please reach out to your child's director! We are happy to print extras!
