ROCORI SECONDARY SCHOOL UPDATE August, 2024
Message from Mr. Hauge, Secondary School Principal
ROCORI Families:
We hope you have had a summer filled with fun, relaxation, and some time with family and friends. We are excited to kick off the 2024-25 school year and welcome your student back to our building! We are returning to an open house format rather than entrance conferences to provide more flexibility to families this year. We will have some meetings for our 6th graders, 9th graders, and English Language Learners for those who would like specific information specific to transition. If you are unable to attend at that time, we can ensure you still receive pertinent information. If your student is new to ROCORI Middle or High School and would like to attend one of those meetings you are more than welcome. If there is anything we can do to make your family feel comfortable and excited about the school year please let us know.
Important things to accomplish at open house will be taking pictures and getting your MacBook. In order to do this your technology Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) must be completed, and your technology fee paid. There is a link below to access the AUP. We will send out more communication as we approach open house but wanted you to mark your calendar for back to school!
Please mark these dates on your calendar, and we hope you have a great remainder of the summer!
Families:
We have one position still available at ROCORI Secondary this year for a Family and Consumer Science (FACS) position available. This position will teach courses on culinary arts, sewing, and nutrition. You may not be aware that there are new avenues to gain temporary licensure in Minnesota. If someone has knowledge in the area and has a 4-year degree, we can help them procure a one year license. Minnesota also offers a teaching license specific to CTE or Career Pathways fields. To be eligible for a CTE or Career Pathways license, an applicant must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Hold an Associate's degree or higher in the area directly related to the requested licensure field;
- Hold a professional certification in an area directly related to the requested licensure field; or
- Have five years of verified work experience in an area directly related to the requested licensure field.
If you or anyone you know may be interested, please ask them to review the job posting and apply on our website. If they have questions please ask them to email Principal Hauge.

PBIS/Core Values
ROCORI Public Schools is a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) district. PBIS refers to a school-wide data driven system. We explicitly teach behavioral expectations as we do math, reading, and other content rather than expecting students automatically know how to behave in certain situations or environments. We systematically encourage positive behavior and reteach expected behaviors to struggling students. The goal is to engage all students and families in a positive educational experience. Staff and students are encouraged to exhibit our core values. ROCORI secondary staff and students show the ROCORI way of Kindness, Respect, and Responsibility. We hope that you, the parents/guardians, will partner with us as we strive to create this positive educational experience for all students!
ATTENTION SENIORS: IMPORTANT YEARBOOK MESSAGE
Dear Seniors, Parents, and Guardians,
Thank you for your patience regarding the Jostens online link for submitting class of 2025 senior photos, baby photos and messages. When you are ready to submit the photos and message, please visit: Jostens Photo Upload. You may also scan this QR code to take you directly to the site.
You will be asked to create an account, and then you can submit your senior photo and baby photo (along with the message) under the portraits section. Please remember to tag ALL photos AND messages with your student’s name to ensure proper identification. It’s important to register your account with an email that you check regularly so we can reach out if we have any questions.
We appreciate your understanding as we transition to a new system this year. The deadlines for the yearbook are:
- November 15th: Baby photo and message due.
- December 1st: Senior photos due.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to yearbook@rocori.k12.mn.us.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Best regards,

ROCORI students in 10th- 12th grade have many class offering available and therefore diverse schedules.
