From the Principal
As we prepare to take a well-deserved break for Thanksgiving, I want to reflect on the many things we have to be grateful for in our school community. The past few months have been filled with hard work, growth, and meaningful connections. From our classrooms to our extracurricular activities, it’s clear that our students, staff, and families are all working together to make this year special.
Thank you to the PTO for your support as we are thrilled that Kevin Honeycutt will join us on December 2! Kevin will share inspiring insights with our students and staff, focusing on kindness and teamwork, creating a positive digital legacy, and helping our teachers “rock it out” as they continue to innovate and connect. This promises to be an energizing and meaningful day for everyone involved, and we can’t wait to learn from his experience and enthusiasm.
Thanksgiving break is a wonderful opportunity to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with loved ones. I encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on what they are thankful for and to celebrate the progress we’ve made as a community. I wish you all a safe, happy, and relaxing Thanksgiving break.
Special Assembly Experience
We are pleased to announce that on December 2, our school will host Kevin Honeycutt, a renowned educator, speaker, and consultant, for a series of grade-level assemblies. Mr. Honeycutt brings over 30 years of experience in education and technology integration, inspiring students and educators worldwide.
During his visit, Kevin will engage our students in discussions on teamwork, anti-bullying, and the importance of cultivating a positive digital legacy. His dynamic presentations are designed to resonate with students, encouraging them to reflect on their actions and interactions both in person and online.
We believe this opportunity will provide valuable insights and inspire our students to foster a supportive and respectful school environment.

Primary Team News
Intermediate Team Ideas
In third grade, the students wrote fictional narratives about how their disguised turkeys escaped being eaten for Thanksgiving dinner. We wrapped up an introduction to a multiplication and division chapter in math. The students also practiced solving multi-step word problems to help Turbo the Turkey plan a Thanksgiving feast. This week in 3/4 Brach the students started synthesizing all the research that they have compiled. 4th graders are creating a graffiti wall answering the question "What was life like during World War 2?" and the 3rd graders are creating a graffiti wall answering the question "How do animals show intelligence? These essential questions were created to enhance the 3rd grade novel study for The One and Only Ivan and the 4th grade novel study Number the Stars. Both grade levels have studied how authors use story devices such as suspense, flashbacks, foreshadowing, and cliffhangers to enhance a story. They also looked at the types of conflict that can be found in fiction-internal vs. external. Both grade levels are also using post-its to take notes as they are reading chapters. In 5th grade, students worked on applying their knowledge about decimals to real-world problems about money. They also worked on reading with expression and overall fluency through a reader's theater.
