December 15, 2024
Dear Families,
What a wonderful month it has been at GMS! We are so grateful for the joy and excitement that fills our school as we approach the holiday season. Here are some highlights and important reminders:
Holiday Secret Shop Success
The PTA hosted a fantastic Holiday Secret Shop last week on December 7th! It was heartwarming to see so many students enjoy picking out special gifts for their loved ones. Thank you to our amazing PTA and volunteers who made this event such a memorable experience. The breakfast treats provided added an extra festive touch to the day!
Vision and Hearing Screenings
We care about the health and well-being of our students. This month, we conducted vision and hearing screenings to ensure our kids are ready to learn and thrive. A big thank-you to the staff and professionals who supported this important initiative.
Staff Professional Development
Our dedicated staff participated in professional development to prepare for a new literacy curricular resource. We are committed to continuous improvement and look forward to enhancing the learning experiences for all our students.
Spelling Bee
This week, we are excited to host the Spelling Bee for our 4th and 5th grade winners on Wednesday, December 18th at 1:30 PM. Our 3rd-5th grade students are also invited to watch the Bee. Best of luck to all our spellers!
Upcoming Spirit Week: December 16th-20th
Let’s wrap up 2024 with some festive fun! Spirit Week is happening this week, and we encourage everyone to join in the excitement. Dress-up themes and activities will bring lots of joy as we celebrate together. See the flyer for Spirit Week below.
Winter Break Reminder
The school will be closed for winter break from December 23rd through January 5th. Classes will resume on Monday, January 6th, 2025. We hope you enjoy this special time with your loved ones, creating cherished memories.
As we approach the new year, I want to thank you for your continued support and partnership. Wishing you and your family a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year. See you in 2025!
