Effective School-Family Partnership
Emergency Response Training - School Intruder
Last week, our school Crisis Team met with our community emergency response team and town officials to review our emergency response plans. This week, we will be teaching students how to care for themselves in response to a school intruder. We practice these emergency situations several times throughout each school year. This is a very sensitive scenario for us to teach to our students and we take it very seriously. We tell students that in any emergency, the most important thing they can do is listen to the trusted adults they are with. In the case of a school intruder, we teach both staff and students an options based response. Please watch the video below to get an understanding of Run, Hide, Fight response to a school intruder.
