Message from Mrs. Hawkins
March 2024
Lincoln Families and Friends,
It was so nice to see so many parents at our winter conferences. What a great time to partner with you to support our students. Thanks to the PTO for organizing and working the book fair. I love to see the kids picking out their perfect book. Teachers were also able to pick out books for their classroom using the Scholastic Book Points we earn through our sales.
This is usually the time of year where we are planning for next school year and welcoming kindergarten students at our Kindergarten Open House. This year, we have placed some of this planning on hold as we wait for a decision on our elementary boundaries to be determined. If you have a 24-25 kindergarten student in your family, please get them registered now so we can include them in Spring Kindergarten Interviews. This event will give students and families an opportunity to meet our team and see our classrooms.
We are expecting changes in our Lincoln attendance and these changes will affect both families and staff at Lincoln. There is an opportunity for you to make a classroom request for next school year, but it will be important for you to describe the type of learning environment that is a best fit for your child. The teacher assignments will not be determined until after the classroom placements are due and student enrollment is finalized.
As many of you already know, I have decided to retire from the Lincoln Elementary Principal position effective at the end of this school year. There is currently a search for a new principal and this should be finalized before spring break. I will continue to work for the school district and will be available to support the new principal as they start the 24-25 school year.
Mary Hawkins, Lincoln School Principal

Artsonia
Hello Lincoln Families,
Each time students complete an art project in art class a picture is taken of their art and saved in their online art portfolio. If you have signed up for Artsonia then you should get an email of your child’s artwork….and eventually it will compile all of their art they’ve created while at Lincoln! You can comment on their art and also purchase items with your child’s artwork printed on it, for example, coffee mugs, coasters, water bottles, notebooks, postcards, and more!
What you might not know is that when you purchase items, our art room receives 20% of every sale!!! This 20% adds up and it’s how I’m able to purchase supplies outside my budget. So far this year I’ve used the money from Artsonia to purchase glaze for clay projects and 2 more boxes of glue sticks! Thank you so much if you’ve purchased items–it is so appreciated!
Artsonia is free to you and will keep your child’s artwork in one place for years to come with no need to purchase anything. If you have any questions about Artsonia, you can email me at: jdutton@isd761.org

2024-2025 Classroom Input Forms
As we prepare for the next school year, our staff takes a tremendous amount of time and thought in developing classroom placements. There are many variables to keep in mind including balance of gender, relationships, student academic needs, overall enrollment, social and leadership skills, and much more. Ultimately, we strive to create classroom placements that will enhance each child’s opportunity for success. If parents want to share specific information about their child that would be helpful in this process, they must complete a Classroom Input Form. We will take parents’ input into account, but we need parents to use this written process as we must have the information.
The classroom input form for 2024-2025 will be available for pick up in the office on March 12th. Please fill them out and return to the Lincoln office before Friday, April 12th.
