APRIL'S CHARACTER COUNTS!
Elementary Courage
For April our focus within the Character Counts framework is on COURAGE for our elementary students. They will exemplify the mantra that “I treat others the way I want to be treated.”
K5 students will try to be brave whenever they can be. Our students will be encouraged to make the right choices and decisions, even if they are difficult to make. Our students will be encouraged to know and understand what is good, true, and right. Our students will be invited to stand up with courage instead of hiding in fear of what is correct.
Balanced Profile
In 1986, Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger designated April as the Month of the Military Child
to serve as a reminder of the role military children play in contributing to the
strength of military families. The Florida Department of Education encourages schools
and communities to organize and participate in events and celebrations
throughout the month that applaud the courage of military children.
Our Academic Camps will continue this quarter, for eligible registered students.
Eligible Grade 1 students will take part in a
Buefoot Pirate Adventure
during the first week of April 2024!

WORLD AUTISM DAY | APRIL 2
"Ever since the United Nations General Assembly designated 2 April as World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) in 2007, the United Nations has observed the day as a means to affirm and promote the full realization of all human rights and fundamental freedoms for autistic people on an equal basis with others. Progress has been made, not least thanks to the many amazing autistic advocates who have worked tirelessly to bring the lived experience of autistic people to the wider world.
The General Assembly resolution from 2007 emphasizes the importance of raising public awareness of autism. Today, 17 years later, we have moved beyond raising awareness to promoting acceptance and appreciation of autistic people and their contributions to society."
