This has been an exciting week at WRV High School. It has been amazing to get to know students, and the amazing work teachers are doing in the classroom.

By way of introduction, I am an Indiana native with a deep love for education and the amazing opportunities it creates. I have almost 10 years of classroom experience as an Career and Technology Education teacher.

I believe that as T.S. Eliot has said, "Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go."

FAFSA:

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is open! Starting this year, all seniors are required by law to file the FAFSA, and they should plan to do so by April 15th. We will have a FAFSA completion night in the Wolverine Center on January 13th at 6PM. Experts from INvestEd will be here to help families complete the FAFSA. Students and their parents should each create an FSA ID at least 3 days before the event.

21ST CENTURY SCHOLARS:

Go to scholartrack.in.gov and login or register (if you don’t already have an account). Make sure you have agreed to the scholar pledge and completed the scholar success activities for your grade level. Let me know if you need help!

GREENE COUNTY SKILLED TRADES CAREER FAIR:

New state law, Senate Enrolled Act 185, bans cellphones during instruction time unless specifically permitted by the teacher for educational purposes. Student cellphones should be turned off and stored in their lockers or turned off and out of sight. We thank all of our students and families in advance for your cooperation with this new law.
