FALL BREAK
ONE MORE WEEK FOR THE OWL-A-THON!!!
The Owl-A-Thon is in full swing, This is our no-bake, no-sell, no-fuss fundraiser, and the proceeds will help us provide even more enrichment and support to our school community.
We have one more week to collect donations!
Our plan this year is to use the funds to install hands-free water bottle fillers in various locations throughout school, and to also bring in artists and performers to the students. Any additional funds will go directly to student/teacher support.

Let’s Crush Our Goal!!!!!
GMS PINK OUT
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 7TH
GMS in observing their annual PINK OUT on Thursday, October 7th. This event will raise awareness and help support those battling breast cancer. We are asking everyone to wear some form of PINK. Also, we have clearance from the dining hall to have our annual snack stand OUTSIDE during lunch. The individual store-bought snacks will be served with gloves and passed to each customer. We will have socially distanced lines, required mask and hand sanitizer for all customers. We will also have snack sells from 2:00 - 4:00 right outside Lineberry with the same safety measures in place. Prices range from$1.00 - $3.00. WYWLA students are encouraged to participate
What can WYWLA students wear on Thursday, October 7th?
You can pink shirts, t-shirts, or tops with wear jeans or your uniform bottoms. You may pink accessories (socks, jewelry, hair bows). You may also wear sneakers.
Students can’t wear hats or jeans with holes, rips, or tears.

A few reminders...Reflections entries are due on 10/12. Let's see your beautiful works of art with the theme of, 'I Will Change the World By...'
Our annual Owl-a-thon wraps in one week. There is still plenty of time to help us pass our goal. Thank you to all who have donated. The generosity of our school community is astounding!
Don't forget, PTSA memberships do need to be renewed each year. Your membership goes a long way to help fund programs and events. If you haven't joined, links are below. Your dues go to directly toward funding our events and programs, and your membership assures that all have a voice in the direction of our group.

REFLECTIONS
Reflections is a national PTA program that provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts. This year's theme is I Will Change the World By…
WYWLA OWLS are invited to submit their original works of art in one or more of the following categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts. Additional contest details and entry forms are available in the MS and HS offices and in the media center.
Submissions can be placed in bins located in the school offices and are due by/on Oct 12. School winners advance to the county competition (and from there the process continues at the state and national levels).

Students are reminded to stay home when they are sick. All students should have their temperature taken every day at home before coming to school. You may not enter a WCPSS facility if you are:
- Diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 10 days
- Exposed to COVID-19 within the last 14 days and not fully vaccinated
- Instructed to quarantine
- Sick or experiencing any of these symptoms of illness
- 100.4° fever or higher
- Sore throat
- New cough
- New shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- New loss of taste or smell
- Diarrhea or vomiting
- New severe headache
When students can return to school?
Students who are not feeling well but do not have one of the COVID-19 symptoms listed above may return to school after they have gone at least 24 hours without a fever or the use of fever-reducing medicine.
