Richardson Elementary
January 12th, 2025
Greetings Richardson Families,
After starting last week with two days of transition, this was our first full week back, it has been inspiring to see our students jump into the new year with enthusiasm and embodying our Penguin Pride values: Be Kind, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe.
A few highlights from last week included in photos throughout this newsletter: Kindergarteners celebrating their learning with a Letter Dance and a Letter Parade, Fifth graders tapped into their inner Michelangelo, drawing "frescoes" while lying under their desks! This creative activity helped them explore the challenges and artistry of the Renaissance. Second graders have been hard at work mastering multi-digit subtraction. Finally, our students have been making the most of the snowy weather, enjoying time outdoors at recess - a reminder of how important play is for learning and connection.
As we continue to build momentum, we encourage families to join us in reinforcing our Penguin Pride values at home. As we come into the new year, we also want to emphasize the importance of regular attendance. While this time of year can bring illnesses, we encourage families to ensure students are in school every day possible. Consistent attendance helps students establish strong routines, stay engaged with their learning, and build connections with their peers and teachers. Every day at school is an opportunity for growth and success, and we appreciate your support in prioritizing this. Together, we can ensure a strong, positive start to 2025 for all our students.
Thank you for your partnership and support. Here’s to an exciting and successful year ahead!

Since returning from winter break, we have noticed increase of unsafe situations at our drop off area during arrival. If you are a family who drops off your child/children in the morning, we request you review our procedures again and reach out if you have any questions. We thank you for your support to ensure our arrival and dismissal times run smoothly and are safe each day.
